Yeah, I wonder whatever happened 2 her!! I wonder if shes still a Prince fan or even if she still lives in Sheridan, Wyoming!!!

When we lived in the USA, we drove through there once on a trip and that place isnt exactly a huge city like Chicago, or Detroit, etc!! . From the Interstate it looked like a small township with a huge Holiday Inn just off the highway!!!

It certainly is the most unlikliest place on earth 2 hold a huge worldwide premier of a movie!! I am not surprised that Prince was very reluctant 2 appear there!! He really had 2 bottle his pride and ego for that event!!

Just think of the Parade Prince making a housecall in the trailer on the backlot of park X. And then imagine the face he makes in the clip KISS when he pull his lip up.

Prince probably don't even know where them damn pearls are. I wonder if she is still a fan too because I was watching MTV 20:The Contest, you know the different segments when they were celebrating 20 years of being on air. On the contest segment when they got to Prince they said that Prince tried to back out of the contest. I don't know if this was before or after he saw Lisa, but he tried to back out, but I think MTV was gonna sue him and his management if he didn't go through with it.

Plus all through the premiere of UTCM he was barely around Lisa. He seemed like was dipping in and out and trying to be around her as less as possible. I mean he was trying to be a gentleman to her, but you could tell he didn't want to be there, after all it was Sheridan, WY. When he took her pearls, he did have that look on his face like I might as well get somethin' out of this night, so I'ma help myself to Lisa's pearls.

so what exactly happened with the pearls. i don't remember any pearl necklace...just a nowhere kinda town that got a great party and show!

If you can get a hold to it, in People Magazine ( I believe it was July 1986) Lisa said at the end of the article that he gave some earrings and a necklace, but not her pearls. Matter of fact those are probably her pearls he used in the Diamonds and Pearls video and on the tour when he would perform the song.

During the UTCM party Prince asked Lisa for her pearl necklace and she gave them to him. Which was kind of perplexing since you know that they were not real. What would Prince want with fake pearls? Who knows. That entire party/contest was kind of perplexing (and boring.)

So, now you know what everyone is referring to about the pearls.

He looked a little mischevious, like "you ain't gettin' these back." He might have asked, but I don't think so. I could be wrong, because this is strictly from memory all those years ago. I have not seen it replayed since I saw it that one time back in 1986. I remember talking to my friends about it at school the next day.

I actually recorded the whole UTCM Sheridan Wyoming premier. It really seemed like Lisa Barber wasn't a hardcore fan. A fan yes but post Purple Rain. It kind of annoyed me that she won. It's like when I go to Prince concerts and there in the front row are people that don't know any of the words to his music. On the Musicology tour I had great seats in San Jose and next to me are these girls that were not paying attention to any of the concert. They were just worried about getting drunk and acting stupid. I digress.
