Prince sounds like Sonic songs I am sure lots os people here played the game Sonic the Hedgehog from SEGA genesis. My question is, I am the only one who think that Prince Melodies and arrangments sounds a lot like the songs of Sonic? His song like I feel for you, I'm yours,why you wanna treat me so bad and songs from this era. am I a nut? |

You idiot!! I feel for you, I'm yours, Why you wanna treat me so bad and songs from that era were out YEARS before Sega and Sonic was even thought of. If anything Sonic sounds like Prince Damn, no reason to name-call. It's not like he said "OMG, Prince copied Sonic the Hedgehog!" I don't think that's what he meant. Hiii! Okay, I'm about to reveal my uber-nerd side momentarily, but I remember reading an interview with one of Sega's music composers ages ago where he cited Prince as an influence. So it's no coincidence that the music in the old Sonic games sounds Princey. Actually, there's a zone in Sonic 2 where the opening part of the stage's music is lifted directly from a part of Glam Slam. I think it's the world with all the tubes and water, and it's so similar it's unlikely to be a coincidence. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

I actually always thought how funky sonic music was (compared to Mario back in the day).....the snare newjack drums pounding away on the theme song.....youch, that treble hurt! I think Sonic music sounds like "do the bart man" more then Prince! | |
