I got hooked to Prince when Purple rain came out, not long after Purple rain, atwiad came out, and then I started buying his older albums. Controversy was the first, and the guy at the recordstore was very surprised, and I remember him telling me that it was an amazing album. Can u imagine gettin into Prince's music in the pr days, and then get to discover all these other albums that I thought were even better than pr? Controversy, not an average album as someone else said, To each it's own, but the arguments he used just don't make no sense. I love 1999, but come on. Controversy.. was just groundbreaking. I think 1999 is more an extension of Controversy, then Controversy is to Dirty mind. | |
