101 - what a cool song (Sheena Easton) Looking through my CD collection yesterday, I stumbled over an old 3'' CD with Sheena Easton singing 101. Great song, and what a voice. IMO one of the coolest songs Prince has given away to other artists.

i agree too  It's a great song. That 3" has a remix or two if I remember correctly. I used to have one, but we parted company in order to trade for a Family CD.Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop. | |

Love the Paisley Park remix's intro (Prince's guitar solo from the opening of the SOTT tour)...
But best is the original... Sheena's voice totally fits the cold rhythm track. As the song is said to be "off" (Sheena did not follow the the original vocal) I am curious for Prince's version. | |

Whats so funny is that this morning while showering...I had my stereo blasting with Sheena Easton songs playing and that entire cd "Lover in Me" is hott!!! Its funny, because you guys are talking about this song (101) and I mustve played it 3 times and then "Cool Love" -both penned by PRINCE! Where is she now? Wonder if her and Prince will ever record again together or is there some songs laying around that they recorded that hasn't been released yet! www.newpowerdetroit.com | |

Love this period. Love his stuff with Sheena. Alot. The 12" of 101 is amazing and at the time, '89, I even heard the Paisley Park remix on the radio, in a cab, like on Kiss FM or somethin! That remix rocks!!
