Prince somehow convinced "Whale Rider" actress Keisha Castle-Hughes, 14, to star in the video for "Cinnamon Girl," in which she'll play the part of an Arab-American teen in a post-9/11 America who blows herself up in a crowded airport terminal. Nice.

Jehovah's Witness Prince has stunned the pop world by using a suicide bombing to end his new music video.

Whale Rider star Keisha Castle-Hughes plays an Arab-American girl so tormented by her life that she blows up an airport.


Famed for his sexually-explicit lyrics, Prince is now making a political statement.

Cinnamon Girl follows the life of Keisha's character in the aftermath of an aeroplane crash.

Schoolmates harass her because of her racial background while the Arabic community around her suffers a backlash following the crash.

In one verse, Prince sings: "Cinnamon girl mixed heritage. Never knew the meaning of colour lines. Nine-11 turned that all around. When she got accused of this crime."

The video was directed by Phil Harder, who insisted it is not purely intended to shock viewers.

He said: "I kind of think about it as how far can her imagination go when the world comes down on her pretty heavy.

"None of it's literal, but you get the picture."

somebody needs to write the author and tell him to watch the video again and notice the girl walks away at the end of the video.

It's as if all these journalists watched everything but the last 20 seconds of the music video.

Can these negative reviews hurt P and the video? What’s really going on? I can’t believe no one is saying any thing positive. That’s what’s wrong with the world 2day! Oops that sounds like Dear Mr. Man, any way media people sure have a f*ck-up way of viewing things when it comes to P and his music.

The NY Post is a right-wing rag owned by Fox News' Rupert Murdoch. I'm not surprised that that is their opinion of the video.

I can't believe this video is so misunderstood.
I find it inspiring and deftly artistic.

He's not even dramatizing the suicide for shock value.
The video reverses quickly and the focus is on the girl's willingness/strength not to be driven to evil.

To be honest, I really didn't even pay attention to the suicide when I first saw the video weeks ago.

Yeah... you can't really get pissed at what the NYPost says because its whole purpose is to piss people off with stupidity. In El Diario (the hispanic paper of NY/NJ) they carried the normal, non-judgemental AP version so it seems like its everywhere now.
