Who loves Bob George???

Hello!!! Well, in my mind this is THE definitive Prince song..it has all of my favorite qualities of the Man doing what he does best...FUNK and ROCK..the weird voice, beat, and the trippy guitars squealing...this is what Prince does best!!!

But of course! It's one of his best.

I know that song by heart. I find the rhyming structure to be pretty witty. ...since when did you have a job...you're seeing that rich MF again...what's his name, BOB. And the one way converstion he has takes multiple listenings to get the whole gist. The ending is nothing short of stellar. Oh and stuff about TV Dinners and Redish brown wigs.

I wouldn't call it a definitive song...though I would say no one but Prince could do a song like that. It's pretty obscure.

Bob George is one of those songs that defines an artist's genius.

Anxiety

the first time i heard bob george it kicked my ass in a way i don't think he's been able to kick ever since. i thought it was the freakiest, the funkiest, the darkest, the funniest, the most bizarre piece of music i'd ever heard from prince (or just about ANYone)...and i LOVED it.

I honestly believe if P had put this song on an album that he released, it would have been a cult classic; not just with P fans but with everyone else too. Can't you just see some rapper or R&B artist taking the beat for one of their songs?

Fantastic tune. Love the guitar work.

Wouldn't say it was definitive, but it shows you just how badass he can be when he wants.

used to think it was pretty cool. but not so much anymore.

but that could have less to do with the song, than the fact that i used to love an orger who used that as his nom-de-plume in his very early days on this site confused

I think that if the Black album had been put out when it should...things would have been different in his career.

But the fact that it wasn't is what makes it a cult classic for us.

I would hate it if someone sampled this beat. There is only one Bob George.
