My Wife Is Going Through This Prince Phase...

She's been home more often, and has started many projects - home improvement wise.

I come home from work and find her doing her projects (sanding and staining wood, painting, etc...) to Prince blasting on the stereo.

It trips me out, because I've been the Prince freak all these many (20-some) years, to which I've endured several years of ridicule and snickering. Some of it by her.

She went to Arizona this weekend and took about 5 to 6 of my Prince discs with her for the ride... eek

Should I embrace her new-found fondness of the Purple One?

Should I hide my cd's and tell her to buy her own?

Should I just relax and quit trippin' on meaningless shit?

confuse

I've not had a girlfriend (outside of my not-so-private fantasies about Salma Hayek) in a long, looooong time.

razz

One wife, and three children later (16, 8 and 7) I have neither the strength nor the patience for a "girlfriend".

(Except Salma Hayek, of course. ) smile

No, it's cool...

I'm just trippin', cuz - if you knew our history... I mean, she's known me since 1981. I was all into Prince... and everyone was trippin' on me, cuz I was wearing some makeup and lace and the ball o' wax. She always appreciated his music, and thought I was cute (but strange) in my gear... but, she was never one to grab a disc and put it on.

It's a nice thing... to come home and hear P blasting on the stereo, and not being the one who put it on... smile

You should try to convince her that a threesome with another woman would be a good idea.

You should give her one or two of his CDs as gifts (anniversary, birthday, etc.). This way, you'll have all of your CD's back--and she'll love you even more for it!

Definately not! Just let her be "Princely creative". This way, a lot of work gets done around the house and you can listen to one of your favorite artists in the mean time. nod

This is exactly why I will not get married. I know my obsession with PRINCE is too much for just anyone to take. I don't want to hear my husband say: "UM, enough of the Prince music now." or "Um, don't you think you've watched Purple Rain enough!" or "You don't need to see Prince in concert AGAIN!" Because, then, I'd have to:

a.) leave him
b.) kill him (just kidding... or am I?)
c.) ignore him until he leaves me.
