I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but the new issue of KING has an article about the making of PURPLE RAIN, and also a separate interview with Mayte, with some nice pictures. Check it out.

Prince and Mayte? That's yesterday's news, and I question why King Magazine would do an article on them NOW, when they haven't been together in several years.

Yes, it is two separate articles; yes, it is in the brand new issue on stands now; the first article is headlined on the mag's front cover as being all about Prince's Purple Rain, with interviews from the people involved. Right after that article is an interview with Mayte, not about Purple Rain, but with very sexy pictures, as that's what this mag likes to do (lots of pics of very sexy women).

There is also a graphic drawing of "Prince" fondling "Appolonia" a la the film''s love scene on the article's splash page.

As far as Mayte being an up and coming star, we'll have to see what happens with that. Mayte is a good dancer, but she was not the best singer, and I'm not sure about her acting ability either. My , who knows, maybe Mayte will prove me wrong.

Okay, I read the PURPLE RAIN article yesterday-- it has new interviews wil Albert Magnoli, Jerome Benton, Alan Leeds, and some others, but it says at one point that Prince refused to be interviewed for the article. A lot of the same stuff that is covered on the new DVD, but a couple of fresh perspectives here and there.
