I always hear Call My Name getting props on this board and I think it's pretty weak to be honest.

Vocally and melodically U Make My Sunshine is a far, far more soulful tune, which never gets any mentions...

Yes i really like the harmonies in "U make my sun shine"
and i think in "Call my name" the melody sounds a little repetitive
(even though i still like it)

Tho , i must say the line "Get your ass down on this throne" doesn't really fit a ballad to me

I agree. I enjoy U Make My Sunshine more than Call My Name.

The first verse and chorus are especially good, lyrically, musically, and the bridge is strangely beautiful...

I listen to U Make My Sunshine almost everyday.

Sunshine is definitely underrated, but better than Call My Name?

To me, it boils down to performance--Call My Name has a real peak 3/4 of the way through where it sounds like the music's about to jump out of the speaker with sheer ecstasy. Where's that moment in Sunshine?

Also, lyrics in Sunshine are pretty corny.

I recall the first time I saw the Video and thinking WOW now that could be a great concept along with the Chocolate Invasion (When I klay my hands on U is sort of in the same vein)...I found the video very sexy and raw.

U Make My Sun Shine is a nice enough song. i like it a lot (i like the edit i made of it w/out Angie Stone better), but i think Call My Name is a better single, even though they both fall a bit short, by throwing that quasi-political nonsense in the middle of them.

that stuff's fine, but hardly fits in a love song.
