Prince & Madonna questions...

Is there any truth to rumors I've heard over the years that Prince & Madonna has collaborated on more musich than just "Love Song" (which appeared on her 1989 LIKE A PRAYER album)?

Does anyone know if Prince indeed contributed guitar to "Like A Prayer" and "Act of Contrition"?

And what about any other songs that never saw the light of day?

just curious.

"Madonna has already confirmed in interviews that Prince played guitar on Like a Prayer, Keep it together (he also played bass). Love Song ( obviously but madonna played keyboards) and Act Of Contrition."

So, he didn't write any tracks with/for Madonna other than Love Song - but played instruments on Like A Prayer, Keep It Together and Act Of Contrition.

This came from here - Press Ctrl+F and type "keep it together" to find the exact post.

Edit: And just to add, Prince covered 'Like A Prayer', but it is uncirculating.

it's unreleased so i highly doubt it. But most unrelease Madonna songs are hard to come by, unlike Prince ones

Patrick Leonard played guitar on Like A Prayer.

Prince recorded guitar parts for Like A Prayer, but it wasn't used on the album version. I think
his guitar work does appear on one of the 12" versions though. Act Of Contrition is basically
part of Like A Prayer played backwards, and this does include part of Prince's guitar playing
from Like A Prayer.

Madonna started her music carear playing Drums for the Breakfast Club... she was fairly good at because of her training as a dancer.

There is also a track floating around the Madonna collectors called Wouldn't You Love to Love Me that's got Prince on it.

There is a rumor that Prince and Madonna recorded two duets in the mid-90s---"Mad" and "Funk Of A Thousand Years"---for the 'From Dusk Til Dawn' movie soundtrack. The songs didn't appear on the soundtrack,so it could just be a silly rumor.

This song really exists.Reportedly,Prince submitted the track to Madonna in 1990 after watching one of her 'Blond Ambition' shows. She didn't really like the song and never recorded her own version.I've never heard the track and I don't think it's circulating.

Prince's guitar parts of LAP were only used in Act Of Contrition and in the fade-out of the LAP 7" version....

not true. this was a rumor started by a paisley park employee on the internet, and quashed. the two titles ARE Prince outtakes, but Madonna had nothing to do with them, nor were they intended for the soundtrack. the information was passed along to Madonna circles, but the correction has been less reported there than the original false rumor.

and looking at the tracklist of the soundtrack, it isn't likely that there'd have been any use for them.

Yeah, that's what I figured.Besides,if these duets really existed,by now they would be circulating.
