I went walking this morning and put in my Come CD. OMG if ever there was an x-rated song that could come in 1st place that would be the one. P just put it out there, he held nothing back. Myte or someone really socked it 2 him in order 4 him 2 come up with those explicit lyrics LOL. I have listen 2 that CD and it is really a good CD except 4 that last stupid cut Orgasm. Was P with Myte? If so did she just turn 18 or what? I wonder what was up with him when he made that song. Space, Loose, Papa, Race, Dark Letitgo or all beautiful songs. Come is the bomb but those lyrics r read deep. What was up with him during that heated time in his life? Wasn’t that the beginning of the name change? Yea fantastic album, highlights being dark and phermone, the orgasm at the end did spoil it slightly, a bit overkill, but fuckit its all good knowhamsayin

Orgasm at the end of the Come CD is Vanity. It's taken from the unreleased Vanity 6 song called Vibrator. What I wonder about the song is who he's saying I Love You to at the very end. Is he saying it to his fans, Mayte or Vanity?

Come was after the name change and beginning of the feud with Warners. Prince wanted to put out Come as a Prince record and The Gold Experience as an 'artist' record at the same time. A lot of songs that ended up on TGE were originally slated for Come. Actually a lot of people think that he weakened Come by doing that. Though I've always liked it.

I know I have a lot of friends on the org who completely disagree with me, and I truly respect their opinions, BUT...

in terms of lyrical content (I'm not talking music/arrangements), I think COME could possibly be Prince's most basic and uninspired album. The lyrics to songs like "Come" don't have Prince's usual creativity and sensuality, they're just in-you-face smut lyrics that leave nothing to the imagination, which is a change from typical Prince (with a few noteable exceptions, of course). I think any rapper with a two-album career could have written some of the lyrics to those songs.

There are songs that I like on COME, such as "Dark" and "Loose!," but they're musically driven more than lyrically. "Papa" is probably the only well-WRITTEN song (lyrically), but who wants to listen to that one all day? It's so raw and painful...it's the most TRUE moment on the disc. But it's certainly out of place with the blatent sex of the rest of the disc.

I know that some of you really love this disc, and a few months ago, I ran a post in which I gave it a "fresh listen" and posted my thoughts. At that time, I moved from liking NOTHING to liking about three songs, but I still can't help but wonder why some of you love it so much. It's a "tight" album...the songs fit together for the most part. But it's so average in my ears...

I simply love this album! It transports me to a special place whenever I play it. Prince REALLY held nothing back writing this song (and much of the remaining material on the album). Orgasm leaves a lot to be desired; if only that track had been a mesmerizingly sexual and ethereal song (like only Prince can write) the album would have been pretty close to pefect as far as I'm concerned.

COME is one of my favs...4 sure! (The album, that is...) This song, IMO, is princes most provocative, and explicit bypassing HEAD, I LOVE U IN ME, JACK U OFF, GETT OFF, SEXY MF, PUSSY CONTROL, on & on... It is also a very SENSUAL song. His voice is very sensual, his words, his mind, his timing, coding, choice of words & music. Definately leaves the rappers of 2day lacking, no matter what 4 letter words they pepper their songs with, they r dirty...not sexy, not sensual like p's. He was & always will B ahead of his time.

Preparations for filming Purple Rain with Vanity 6 and The Time began in May 1983. Vanity left the group and the movie in August 1983 after she and Prince had a falling romatntically but mostly because she wanted more money.

Rumor has it that he put Orgasm on the "Come" album because this is was during the period of time when Vanity/Denise was sick, needed a kidney transplant and needed money. This was his way of getting her a little money without it looking like he was taking pity on her. This is also why the moaning voice is credited as "She Knows" on the album, she had recently become a born again Christian and he didn't want to embarass her.
