Worst 1980s Album vs. Worst 1990s Album

Pick your choice of worst 1980s Prince album and put it against your choice of worst 1990s Prince album....then choose the worst album of the two decades.

My choices are:

Worst 1980s album: "Parade"
vs.
Worst 1990s album: "New Power Soul"

Worst of the two decades: "New Power Soul"

The Black Album vs. Graffiti Bridge.

only mystery and underground sales made the Black Album a legend. Really, there are only about two good songs. The rest are rather silly.

And Graffiti Bridge was the first time I realized the Great Prince had flaws. I mean, at least he had the wisdom not to release the Black Album ... but how the hell did GB get through the censors.

And, Why'd he let Morris sing half the songs. If I wanted to hear Morris, I'd get a Time CD. damn.

Now...which one is the worse of the two you picked?

Wow, choosing between two pieces of tripe is hard.

The Black Album is bad, but is redeemed by Cindy C and When 2 R in Love.

So, I have to go with Graffiti Bridge as the worst.

Interestingly, my worst in those two categories are side by side. Batman vs Grafitti Bridge, and the Bridge is 100 times worse.

Batman is sixth worst overall, behind diamonds and pearls, for you, emancipation and prince.

Snap

Prince only made one bad album in the '80s, and it really wasn't that bad: Batman.
Worst one of the '90s would be New Power Soul (if we don't count Kamasutra or NPG albums)
Worst of '80s & '90s: no competition --> NPS is the worst -- what a let-down!

-- graffiti bridge, worst? um... "question of u," "joy in repetition," "thieves...," "we can funk," "elephants & flowers" and several more i like

Batman v. New Power Soul

Batman, being his worst of the 80s is still pretty good. NPS.. not so good.

1999 vs. Exodus.

Obviously, 1999 is the winner, but you'd be hard pressed to find anything worse than Exodus.

You all know, that the worst album Prince made at 80's was BATMAN, and even that isnt really a bad album. So, every single one of his 80's records beats easily every single one of his 90's work.

So, there's no competition really... you could put Batman vs. Newpower Soul, or Batman vs. Lovesymbol, or even Batman vs. Come, and still you got the same result: Batman!!!

Next thread please.

Worst 80's:

(i want to add "Prince" so baddd!!!)

Around The World In A Day ( I would seriously like 2 get funky to Batman than the psychedelic drawl of AWTWIAD)

Worst 90's:

Chaos & Disorder

worst:

CHAOS! Even "The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale" had cooler items than this madness.
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

This is 2 easy. Or maybe not. I hate life.

Okay, obviously Graffiti Bridge is P's WORST 80's album, but I think it came out in '90. DAMN HIM FOR MESSING UP MY WORST AND WORST LIST!

I guess his worst 80's album is The Black Album. It has a few great songs, but his acid trip is showing like a stripper's sweaty undies.

His worst 90's album? That's EASY. Newpower Soul.

Xpectation and N.E.W.S. are the worst things he's ever done, but I THINK they came out 2000 and later.

I am starting to get frustrated at all these newbies. Shut up, you ignorant dorks. smile

You aren't allowed to say anything else to this thread than "Batman" for the 80s and "Newpower Soul" for the 90s. That's not even a matter of personal opinion, it's just a fact . Everybody in the Prince camp knows it!

Several people have mentioned 'winning'. You're supposed to choose the worst of two decades here. That's losing .

I know I could get killed for this, but, I think "Dirty Mind" is extremely over rated. Yes, when it came out it was ground breaking and it set the mold for what Prince is all about. It was the 1st real "Prince" album. The look and attitude of the whole thing was great.

However, "Dirty Mind" is very lightweight. It's very squeaky and chirpy. It's not as funky nor as rockin' as people claim. It sounds like porno music-not the words, but the actual music. The Dirty Mind songs are/were a lot better live than they are on the album. The album is too breezy and lightweight. I am not saying I hate Dirty Mind-I like it a hell of a lot. It is simply over rated.

I'll take BATMAN over DIRTY MIND anyday!! It's WAY better. I think Dirty Mind is the worst 80s for me, followed by the Black Album.
