I've seen P more times than I can count, and remember debating his axe genius with others as far back as the Controversy/1999 days. The man has literally brought me to tears with the preternatural ability that he has to communicate directly with one's soul on his guitar. His catalog of riffs is beyond impressive, beyond staggering even. That being said, I've never seen anything that blew me away like his solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps at the R&R Hall of Fame Ceremony. I just could'nt believe what I had just witnessed! Apparently, neither could a lot of America that woke up the next morning. So striking was this solo that most P fans that I know talked about it more than the performance of his own material.
That solo was absolutely nuclear! P is a baaad man ! Still, I wonder if he will ever get his just due for being the virtuoso of the six string that he truly is?

Sexy Dancer Of course it is. That as well as the funky rif of Lady Cab Driver. I was playing it last night on my guitar too. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

A really funky riff that most people haven't heard is on "Sexy staxaphone and guitar" on the Beautiful Experience CD...it only appears for 10 seconds (between 3.06 and 3.16) and might possibly be an improvised thing, as it appears during a solo.
Other funky favorites of mine is the rhythm guitar on "Hide the bone" (which is really nothing unique, but just incredibly funky!) and the short guitar part that's layered with a synth on "New world" (at 1.35)

I'd say its between the last scale he runs at the end of "Free", the hook guitar riff to "Gett Off", the guitar/synth hook in "Race" and the "Batdance" Vicky Vale break. Honorable mention to the rhythm guitar riffs in "Kiss". I am talking riffs here, not solos.

I'd say Kiss, though it's not a riff exactly.
The opening chord (repeated before he says "Kiss") is so recognizable, as is the guitar throughout. You don't hear it in other songs like that "Vicki Vale"chord which he does a lot. But I don't know if he played on Kiss, so as a backup I might say the opening to When Doves cry Check this song out at:

I'm intrigued. I missed this, and from what I've read online after looking at your post, that solo was really spectacular. Any idea where it might be viewed online?

yep... that's the same funky guitar sound i like (not the breakdown part, but the rhythm guitar during the verse) -- mijac kinda stole this same sound when he wrote "black & white"
