Did this really happen in the states? Because the tour hasn't come to the UK it hasn't happened here. I find it interesting that a new generation of teens into R&B would be getting into Prince. Obviously, I think thats a good thing. Over here, the album came out, briefly charted and disappeared. Hopefully, Prince will do a good few dates over here and there will be a buzz around him again for the 1st time in 10 years.

(i.e. ABeautifulOne) Prince's selling out with the largely mediocre lite R&B of Musicology saw a vast influx of these kind of people to the org. I kinda understand the difference between n00bs and new people but, Stereotypes suck. I'm 16 (N' OmG EyE MeAn i LyKE ToTaLY HeArT tYpInG Lyke DiS! It LoOkS So KeWl! (or so he says. ) And Musicology definitely did not attract me to Prince. If it had been the first Prince album I had ever heard, I would have run in the opposite direction. I only like 3 songs on it (If I was the man in your life, The Marrying kind, reflection are good. Their are a couple of others that are OK. ) Dirty Mind and were the first Prince albums I heard. (Uptown is the song that made me a fan, I loved the freedom he sang about) Sorry, I just hate the "uneducated newbie, has to ask ten thousand questions, probably thinks Prince is a new artist" cliche. I can't speak for all n00bs, newbies, etc., but the only reason I joined this site now is because Prince has had a lot going on, and no one in my "real life" gives a damn when I talk about Prince being on the cover of all these magazines, or talk about his TV interviews. This was just a general rant about "n00bs/newbies". It wasn't directed completely towards you MrSquiggle.

1. I'm a regular member. What elite status? 2. I'm not "threatened" by n00bs. It's simple. If ya don't like nubile threads, avoid them. They're not harming you. Be proud to be old-school, if you are...but know that your threads are not intrinsically more valuable than anyone elses. Anyway, you need to get back to enjoying Prince's music. Newbie-prejudice is a waste of time.

This never use to be, remember the days when he wasn't commerically successful and released stuff quietly (e.g rainbow children). Now instead of sensible threads you have threads like "DID...YOU SEE gRaMMy PrEfORMANCE!!!", Then there are the recurring threads like "OMG SHaUN...OF THE..DEAD PRINCE MENTION!!!1!!". This all seems to happen now with Prince's "comeback". Hopefully After all this hype of Musicology things will go back to normal.
ridiculous. no new fans = no website and noone to hear you express your incredible genius. Please continue to inform all Prince fans what to find entertaining and exciting. I feel blessed to be able to converse with the folks who own the patent on Prince's music knowledge. [Edited 10/10/04 8:07am] (Insert something clever here)

yeah... the problem with such stereotypes in the first place (regardless of whatever intentions to the contrary one might have in the beginning) is that they create inside and outside groups. ageism, knowledgism, sexism, genreism, etc etc... its all the same. it merely serves to boost certain people's ego's and make the others feel like they're missing out on something. nobody needs such things. Change it one more time..

when you you don't even know "U're gonna c me" (that's what you said in a topic i started about that genius song) You shouldn't accuse people of being a NOOB- I'm not accusing any one. when you you don't even know "U're gonna c me"- , I'm ok with people not knowing. if you bothered to read my complaint it's about n00bs and their threads. Not about n00bs and what they know., The definition of a noob is a person that's not familiar with all of his work (So , in fact i could call you one) Just don't think you are any better than the "noobs" you were complaining about You should in fact be happy he got more fans !!! still [Edited 10/10/04 8:31am]

[Edited 10/10/04 8:07am] Have you even read the post above? I'm not against new people only N00bs. I must have said these at least 20 times. Being new is only one characteristic of a N00b. Worlds most beloved Orger

(So , in fact i could call you one) Just don't think you are any better than the "noobs" you were complaining about You should in fact be happy he got more fans !!! 5. n00b The derogatory word used to label someone who is new to a particular game/forum/server/where-ever. Many people misuse the word, insulting new members by calling them 'n00b's. The word 'newb' is sometimes confused with this term - 'newb' standing for 'new beginner'. Whereas a n00b means one of two common terms. 1) A new member who is acting stupidly. 2) A member who is acting stupidly, regardless of level and/or experience. 1) "Lol, u level 1 n00b stfu pwned." 2) "Wow, that guy's been here for 4 years and he still acts like a n00b." And this one definition in particular: 11. n00b A person who goes to a forum on the internet, and could easily blend in with the rest of the crowd, but chooses to act like an ass. Usually says something stupid like: "Yo Yo Yo Im NeW HeRE AnD WAs WonDERin iF Ya'LL CoUlD TeLL mE WhAT GOes On ARouND HurRrRrRr... I dIdNT ReAD dA RuLES aND ReGs, b" -ACTUAL quote all these were found at Urban dictionary You my friend are: [Edited 10/10/04 23:35pm] Worlds most beloved Orger
