The first time I watch SNL in years, and there's a long Prince sketch on it! It was a sketch called "The Prince Show", (the "o" was spelt with the , Prince was spelled with Purple Rain Font".
Beyonce was his sidekick. The intro had him playing his symbol guitar, then on the show itself he had Patti Labelle (Played by Queen Latifah), and Sharon Stone as guests. Then at one point he had a "tantrum" at which point he started throwing roses and grapes at the camera while half singing a drippy ballad, then he took a purple pillow and tore a bunch of feathers out of it. A lot of Kiss riffs in the sketch, and a couple other songs thrown in there. The Prince wasn't great, but passable. He certainly got the style right. A new suit, and the right facial expressions, rather than the typical old frilly purple suit and buggy eyes most impersonators do. But, he looked nothing like Prince. Anyway, it was surprising. Later. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal" - Carl Sagan | |
