I need help, I dont know what cd i should buy next.I figured u all could help me since most of u have been Prince fans longer than me.

These are the cds I already have: The Very Best of Prince, The Emancipation 3 cd set, Purple Rain, Musicology, Diamonds & Pearls, Controversy, and 1999

I'm almost complete with my collection but heres some advice you may not need...
Go to local used CD/ Record shops and see what the have

You get better prices and have a better chance of finding less common
stuff (by the looks of what you have I would guess you go to Best Buy or someplace
but I could be wrong??)

As a Prince disciple of more than 20 years, I urge you to buy Sign of the Times (SOTT).

"The Hits and The B Sides" Yes, it's a compliation, but it's Prince at his best from his early days to the early 90's. Then you could sell or trade your The Very Best of Prince. I'll Tell U one I don't suggest is The Vault: Old Friends For Sale, and also New Power sould is kinda weak.

I have been to the cd stores but the only used store we have has Around the World In A Day. Is that a good album? I went to Virgin Records in Chicago and they had SOTT but when i saw it I had already bought Controversy and the movie Graffiti Bridge and I didn't have any money left over. & the only other places in my town 2 buy cds are Sam Goodys & Wal-Mart. Sam Goodys has N.E.W.S., is that cd any good? & Wal-mart is always out of stock except for Musicology & Purple Rain.

It's also a great overview of his material, even though it edits a bunch of songs for time - blasphemy! Anyway, one good thing about starting from there is that so many albums are represented, you can kind of see what direction you want to go in based on the songs you like.

But I wholeheartedly disagree on The Vault. I love this album. It has great tracks like "When The Lights Go Down" and "Five Women," one of his best blues songs ever.

For years I've always been able to find a shitload of Prince at the used stores, but since he's in the spotlight right now and everybody and their mother is on the dick-riding bandwagon (no offense ), they're probably getting cleaned out a bit.

Re: ATWIAD, I love it, but it'll probably take you some time to get into it. It does for most people.
