Wow, instant attitude. You really are 13 ! (only kidding) I have kids older than you. I bet your parents wouldn't want you on this site if they saw some of the content. I say this as a parent, so I know you won't like it. "A united state of mind will never be divided

This is the album that got me into Prince's music. I wasn't really into his music at all (wasn't very familiar with it), when I heard "Let's Work" at a party. I had to have some of that funk! The next day I went out and bout the first Prince album I saw. Didn't read the song titles or anything. As it turned out, the album was Dirty Mind. Needless to say, it blew me away!! Started me on my still unfinished Prince journey.

I hate to do this Carmand but Let's Work is on the Controversy album. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that song. It's pretty good live to.

24 years ago today, dirty mind was released. give this album a spin sometime today and pay a bit of homage to it and all of its Hohnerlicious glory. I was hypnotized by this album cover at 12 years old. Stunned, hypnotized, mezmerized, and disgusted.....I took my allowance money and I bought it immediately!

I say this as a parent, so I know you won't like it. I'm 15, so I say this as a "child." Most parents I know, including my own are well aware that by 6th grade we have been subjected to most "explicit" material that would have been truly unheard of in their day. Everything from oral sex in middle schools, to teachers being arrested for pulling knives on their students and selling drugs- I speak from experience. We can't be sheltered, and it would be impossible for them to censor what we see and hear to their liking. My parents never gave a flying fuck what I was exposed to, because they understood I would be exposed to everything regardless of their efforts. Just my

I had heard "I Wanna Be Your Lover" but "Dirty Mind" was the first Prince album I ever bought in 1980 and the one that hooked me. A few months later, I bought "Prince". Andy is a four letter word.

Dirty Mind sounds remarkably 'Now' to me. It dated a number of years ago but has come back recently, it sounds very fresh at the moment. Would compete today if it was released i think.
