Where's that? The Charade version of Girls & Boys opens with a woman saying "For God's sake..." I always thought he was saying: "The beat." Lately, I considered the possibility he's saying: "Ba-bee."

Actually its...
"Starve a nation" than you will notice he truly yowls a scream in defiance (think sexuality type scream - when you knew he really meant it!! ) my belief at the time (and actually now 2) is that he meant to rebuke two things: 1. The criticsm he was now under (1986 was an odd time for Prince - alomst pre-symbol) The CD stickering, the departure on ATWIAD, his band about to be broken up) 2. Also the whole Sun City was going on at this time and he was referring to that entire situation 2 thus... why the yowl is so convincing. 2020 1984 The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I think it's funny how people think it's "starfish". I"m assuming htese are people who were going back and listening to "old" albums as opposed to those of us who actually bought them as they came out (OK I'm dating myself).
Mountains was released long before Starfish and Coffee so as a listener, we would never have even known about S&C the song, although I guess it's possible he actually wrote it much earlier and could've have been influencing this scream. Though I really don't hear it that way anyway.
