Prince is left without understanding his talent I listen to his music and am fascinated. However, when I reach that level, its a fleeting moment. Know what I mean? The bootleg interest in his shit points to my reasoning. Although, I never have listened to one, I have been to 3 of his concerts, and that's where he lets it all all out.
My reason for the post was a listen to the 2 or so minute 'Sometimes It Snows In April.' Such a small glimpse at Prince at his best. He doesn't do it much. You know, I think he realizes thats his best stuff. So why hide behind a charade of albums that have no resemblence to it? [Edited 10/8/04 3:16am]

"I used to cry for Tracey, cause I wanted to see him again. But sometimes, sometimes...."
Dig this, this song is way beyond Purple Rain. I would place this song on the same creative vein as Purple Rain. I'm glad y'all get the picture.

I have a question about Sometimes it snows in April. I love the short version on the piano that he does for the end credits of the ONA Las Vegas show on DVD. Although I love the original version, that little snippet he plays at the end was FANTASTIC, so heartfelt, poigant, and sad. It seems that as he has gotten older he really feels the song to a point that he did not when he was younger and just wrote it. Everytime I hear it, I just can't help but weep. Did he every record that song again in its entirety, on a live recording, or otherwise? I know that its on the ONA 3 cd box, but is it the whole thing? I would love got find another version of that song. Thanks. If the wind blew all the petals from your precious red rose, would you be afraid of what you'd find inside?...

I have heard live renditions of it, but actually UTCM...., or Parade as I like to call it is not bad at all. Like I said, its a damn classic.
