I believe most of you are confusing Purple Rain to be a masterpiece because it was so commercially successfull. It did have moments (I still freak out when I realize that "When doves Cry had no bassline" but was still the jam. Computer Blue kicks ass anyday especially the extended version)

HOWEVER PEOPLE,

Purple Rain cannot touch any of the other albums in my opinion especially LOVESEXY which is a true masterpiece vocally & musically (much like The Rainbow Children), but we wont go there as too many of you are haters on that album. Ask yourself this question. If you're like me you probably always dig in your collection to grab a different feel, era, or sound of P's music

HOW MANY OF YOU STILL PLAY YOUR PURPLE RAIN CD'S?

I can barely listen to Purple Rain anymore machinegun

and Darlin NIkki is kind of a corny song without seeing him perform it like he did in 84/85. And just so you dont think I'm a hater of corny songs, I let you in on a little secret; I really only play the album to hear "Take Me With U"

NOW COME ON PEOPLE, Let's get the 2 P's "Purple Rain followed by Parade off the island before we start messing with the true Masterpiece albums shall we?
