On one episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Will is downstairs getting something to eat, ready to go to school to take senior pics. Carlton waltzes in from the poolhouse all snazzed up and dancing, and Will says, "Calrton, this is just a school picture, not a Prince video".

Back in '84, on Silver Spoons, Ricky (Rick Schroeder) is 14-years old and complains about teens not being able to get into R-rated movies -- He says, "I can't even see Purple Rain!" or something like that. I had been a huge Prince fan for two years (since I was 12) and could certainly understand the frustration! 'Least I had a cool mom to take me.

edit: also remember back in 1980 or so on Dif'rent Strokes, Willis was showing off some dance moves to Charlene (Janet Jackson) -- the song that was playing: "I Wanna Be Your Lover" by Prince.

Damn, I forgot the name of the actor & TV show but this was during the Diamonds & Pearls era & he did a very good impersonation of him complete w the yellow outfit. People even said that they are distant cousins.
