The meticulous cover of the entire "black album"

What is the story behind this? When 2 R in Love is almost identical... and other songs at least have every musical component and sound effect represented.... including backing vocals! someone had a lot of time and musical know how to do this even if they couldn't use the best instruments or play wah/funk guitar....

I think either a French or German band made a note-for-note perfect cover version of the entire Black Album.

Why would anyone do this. Except Prince...and we KNOW why that is...but I don't see him making perfect masters of any of his stuff.

I always thought that the most impressive part of the CD was their attention to detail. Those wacky Germans... if peeps haven't heard this, find it.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I don't much about it but was told that it was released by a french band in 1990 called The Black Album Band. I don't have an original, just heard some mp3's of the whole thing.

It's fun to have, but nothing more than a curiosity.

It is meticulous though! B)
