do you think prince created his own style on guitar

back in the day prince was hendrix and santana in one man as a guitar player.
but now days he created his own style.do you feel the same.
his uniq solos are
rainbow children
west(ending solo)
family name
all solos from instrumental jams from year 2002
xpedition
north
east...

i'd say that "purple rain" is uniquely Prince, but when i started to branch out into trying different styles of music, i was surprised by how many musicians actually seemed to have influenced Prince's style -- but Prince does have several songs that sound uniquely his own when playing guitar -- "Dolphin," "Gold," "Savior," "Eye Hate U," "Last December," "Family Name," etc.

no man,i think you didn't get me in the right way.
dolphin savior and gold have nice guitar solos but there are people that have played in that style.
purple rain is ordinary blues scale solo(but very emotinal)
but you are right about family name (ending guitar solo)
i think he combined sound and style and he created his own style.

an astute observation, i believe. i have been thinking exactly the same thing.

'East' though i think is rather jazz fusion, a la al de meola or somethin'.

but yeah, suddenly he emerged with this whole new thing.

i love it, and think it's new and bold and a testament to his development and the depth of his artistry and creativity.

I don't know about style. But he definitely has created his guitar tone and sound. The distortion pedal mixed with some other effects that I can't name right now make him stand out.
