If Prince hadn't been taken in by Ms. Bernadette... and been given a safe, nurturing environment in which to develop his mucic, his personlity, and his work ethic....Do you think he would have become the successful musician he is now? ~~~~~~~~~~~

Yes, dear I know that. It's a southern thing, like Rhonda Smith would be Ms. Rhonda, Candy Dulfur would be Ms. Candy and Bernadette Anderson would be Ms. Bernadette. It's to show both respect, yet convey a sense of familiarity. ~~~~~~~~~~~

Prince had the talent in him regardless of where he stayed. I think being around someone as talented as Andre Cymone helped his talent to grow. As for Ms. Anderson, I think he owes her a lot and I hope he appreciates everything she has done for him. She reminds me a lot of my grandmother who took me in when I had troubles at home. It's just a shame how he did her son though. I can see being controlling with other people, I would be too, but Andre was supposed to be his best friend. Andy is a four letter word.

He definitely still would have went on to be a successful musician. He taught himself to play every instrument he plays (it's reported that he can play at least 22 different instruments). He loved music so and definitely had drive. How could his extraordinary talent go unoticed? This was his legacy - he was meant to do it.

I really don't think it would have made any difference. Prince still had abandonement and hence control issues later on. I've lived with families other than my own and I know that you are never accepted and you constantly have to walk a tightrope because your instincts tell you, you are held to a different set of expectations. It's tough and nerve racking, scarring. Prince was just surviving that's all. If he had a nurturing environment he wouldn't have been so driven maybe, that is why he wasn't always the nicest of people.

Didn't want you to feel bad, just trying to say, based on my experience, it's not a good way to live, definitely not a good way to grow up. both parents kicking him out had long term effects on little Prince, I'm sure he never felt at home with the Anderson's.

Threads like this are mostly irrelevent, because Prince was taken in, so anything you say is pure speculation. What if Prince were a cabaret singer..what if Prince was an auto mechanic..
