If Prince Performs at the 2005 Grammy Awards

If Prince were 2 open or perform at the Grammy’s, what song would u want him 2 sing? First of all there will b millions of people watching because of him. I would love 4 him 2 open with “It’s Gonna Be a Beautiful Night”. Its very appropriate 4 the occasion displaying some of his other musical talents like in SOTT where he played the drums and then he could play keys or the piano just a little something 2 let the neebees see how talented he really is. After that he could go back to his guitar and kick butt with Musicology since that’s what he will be nominated 4.

Let me hear your take on how u would want him 2 open the Grammy’s. wink

He needs to perform "Let's Work" and he needs to do without the help of a newcomer ruining it.

Why are some so obsessed with hating Larry Graham?
How many times have you seen or heard about him performing on the Musicology tour?
Hmm?
Come on. The man's a legend, like it or not, and many appreciate that.

I agree! I have recorded every Prince televison performance that I have gotten a chance to see but I recorded over that shit with her. She ruined the whole performance.

I hated P with her. How did that come about him and Beyonce in the first freakin place? I never did get that. I wanted 2 see him perform by himself. She was totally trying 2 out sang him. He usually doesn’t let anyone share the stage with him not like she did. Oh well, he’ll never do that shit again in IMO LOL eek

I don't want Prince to perform at the 2005 Grammy's

He can't beat 2004 and doesn't need the bad comparison.

nod yeah I still can't get over the flinging the hair and leaning up against him while he is working the guitar and she flinging her hair like some mindless twit.

Because its the Grammys as opposed to the AMA's, and because I am still hoping for the release of A Million Days biggrin , I'd like to see him perform it or Musicology. I think that they are both tailor made for this venue and may spark a resusitation of sales.

he he he..lol that is totally true..

All the people i have talked to about the grammy's thought that Beyonce stole the show.. and i Hate that .. btw these people are not P fans.. keep that in mind...

Prince could have definitely done with out her.. i mean yeh she is Ok but please not with Prince .. what was she thinking??? actually what was P thinking??? P is totally our of her league..musicallly i mean..

Next Year if Prince was going to perform at the Grammy's i would want him to perform a song which would totally show of his musical ability... for example maybe The Beautiful Ones.. but then again that was from the PR period, so maybe something different would go down better, but he definitely ripped that song up .. (i luv it)..

Maybe A Million Days.. the end of that song is brilliant.. besides he would probably have to perform something from his most recent CD, which would be Musicology.. and he would hopefully be nominated for some awards..

I also love the Marrying kind. great guitar! It rocks! But it would be a great to do Beautiful ones... but I am sure if he did perform it would be to support a recent effort, Musicology. Million Days, that would be great too. Anything besides life of the party.

I'd love to see him doing something new. Like A Million Days, or the world-wide hit Cinnamon Girl (by next year, of course...!), or something off a new CD... Since he's 'retiring' the old hits, and wants to concentrate on new music, I just hope that he performs at the Grammies with a new, earth-shattering sound that blows everyone away.

Yeah, I know - "Some people say that I'm a dreamer..." etc.

I am for a rockin' (think Lenny-Kravitz-like) performance of "Cinnamon Girl".... complete with Cat and Sheila E. much like something would have been done with if it were --- hmmm, "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man." My reason for this choice of one song is twofold:

1.) It is a NEW song off his NEW album for which he did a successful NEW tour and gained NEW fans.

2.) Prince seems to strike gold when he does more rock-edged things (as opposed to adult contemporary, save it for guys like Usher, R. Kelly, and even Justin Timberlake, or hip-hop which has never been much of a success genre for Prince) that incorporate the other styles, showcase awesome guitar pickin', and remind people he STILL ROCKS!
