I just so happened 2 finally watch Graffiti Bridge 4 the first time yesterday. Sequel 2 Purple Rain? no. 90 minutes of absolute nothing.
I know that i'm not "in touch" with my spiritual side completely..but what was the deal with this movie? I mean... 1/2 of it doesn't make any sense. Why is he talking to his dad? He used 2 beat the shit outta him and his mom. "It's Just Around The Corner"... yea, that totally doesn't make sense, even when he sings it in the song.
Aura... was she an angel and not know it? Well... angels are not supposed to get drunk, seduce men, and have sex with long haired beard-having mofo's like The Kid.

Oh... don't even get me started with The Kid.

"Theives In The Temple"... when he's dancing in the alley... bless my little heart 4 saying this... it kinda reminded me of MJ *oh gawd... someone slap me*

Jerome and Morris... funny as always, but the whole movie just didn't make sense.
The music wasn't even that great. I enjoyed "New Power Generation", "Joy In Repition", and "The Question Of U" but that's it.

This movie SUCKED.

It's an interesting chapter in Prince's career, the genesis of the project, as the original follow-up to Sign O' Times, the early script, the re-writes, the casting, the tacked-on 'sequel' element (it wasn't originally a PR sequel).

We all know how fickle Prince is, he has a short attention-span, but he held onto GB through several other projects, it went through so many changes, I do think it might have been better if he had just let it go (He's done that with so many other projects), but he stuck with it, and we got what we got - It's kind of a testament to how much he believed in the project, and the ideas he wanted to convey with it.

Amen. I watched it once last month and couldn't wait till it was over so I could put it away and never watch it again. I can't stand movies without at least an agreeable plot, and this one takes the cake AND ice cream.

You know... the best / funniest part of the whole movie, is when Terry spits out the chilé and Morris says: "Now what time is it? Bwohahahaa!"

It's all down hill after that. He couldn't translate the Lovesexy message into a movie.

It was like watching the Phantom Menace. You know it was meant to be greater, but in the hands of it's directory it was like watching a slow moving train wreck.

I'm not sure if that or MJ's Captain Nemo was better.

I dont know what you guys are talkin about, i LOVED the movie, i guess im just a better fan than you guys. It was a little confuzing at firts, but after watching it a couple times, it kinda grows on you. It made cry when she dies.And my brother is in love with melody cool, lol

THere was no story in my mind. I couldn't find one at least. I stashed away the DVD in my closet never to be opened again, except maaybe for the music videos.

I loved it. I think the sets look great, the acting is second to none really making the viewer feel for the characters. I thought that the story was very deep and invigourating. I loved the tension that slowly builds as each scene passes and the way the story is drawn out to its final conclusion. I dont think any of you can say that you saw that ending coming. What a twist. I would definately put the ending up there with the Usual Suspects for that "Oh my god, I would never have guessed!". Ok, im sure some of you will say you guessed the ending to the Usual Suspects, but not one of you can say you had the slightest idea about how this master peice would end.

I thought the sound track was second to none and..... er hold on.....

The DVD version has given me a whole new appreciation.....most of that "soft glow" to everything has been removed and the picture is SO much clearer in general than the VHS....I can't finally see everything in detail now and it's really not such a bad movie. The DVD shows it as it was MEANT to be seen.

see... uh.. no matter how much ya'll defend it. it still sucks.

don't get me wrong, there are some cute scenes in it...

like... the hangman scene where he was being cute and wouldn't talk

and all of the love scenes between prince and ingrid.. are... well... nvm.
