Did Prince actually go into the studio with No Doubt or did he do the classic "by the mailman" duet , how much did he write , did he play anything on the track , how did it come about?

Anyway, it was a tune buggering exercise thing, as usual. They gave him one of their songs to put some keyboard over or whatever but, as usual, he felt the need to take it apart then put it together again - unrecognisable and with tamperered genetics.
It's a new Prince song, with 'inspiration' from No Doubt. I'm sure they were appalled at his boldness. The wee man finds it very difficult not to fuck with other people's art. Just ask Kate Bush.

I just read in the Vault that they gave it 2 him inreturn for having Gwen on "So Far So Pleased"

They sent him tapes, it says all he did was put his vocals on it and that they gave him songwriting credit because they felt honoured he did it.
