Isn't it from the Martika sessions? record together with bliss, Mindbells, Loge thy will be done and Martika's kitchen? i think the open book is the strongest track of them all.. Bliss I really disklike! the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose

"Bliss" and "Mindbells" were for a completely different project. They're a bit older as well.

Bliss I really disklike! Yeah, according to The Vault, "a leftover from Paisley Park sessions for Martik'a Kitchen in late 1990/early 1991. The song was recorded by Levi Seacer playing all instruments except for percussion by Kirk Johnson. It was inspired by Martika's song 'Safe In The Arms Of Love' released on Martika's Kitchen and even mentioned passages from it (Martika is credited on 'Open Book' along with Seacer and Prince)." It was later given to Jevetta Steele for her 93 album 'Here It Is'. Apart from writing it, doesn't sound like Prince had much to do with it physically, does it?

"Open Book" is incredible. His vocals on it and amazing. The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

Prince's version of the song is one of my favourite Prince tracks ever With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

This is one of those Prince fans that it seems like everyone loves but me. The first time I heard it, I thought it was a bit of contrived drivel and I still think that. But I guess if everyone else likes it, then it must hold some value. I prefer Player and I Wonder from that general period.

agreed. i love this song. the version i have is real rough - like a demo that was never intended to be released. i think about how good the song would be with the band he has now, but i dig the song so much and am so used to the version i have that i might actually be disappointed with a polished version with live drums, etc.
