Just wondering what every 1 thinks of parade the utcm soundtrack

It's one of my favorite Prince albums, a must have for any serious Prince fan.

@ first it took time 2 get used to "life can be so nice" but i started to listen to it more than the others and try to listen 2 every instrument respectively 2 help me appreciate it more....

Definitely one of his most eclectic albums, which is really saying something when you are talking about Prince. Was anybody making music even remotely like Parade in 1986? It took me a while to get into it, but now I love it. I was definitely put off by all of the shifts in musical styles the first few times I heard it.

I think Parade, like Prince's whole oeuvre really, is an interesting mess. I really really like about half of the songs, and really really don't like the other half. I won't bother naming which ones I do like but I'd say in general the first half of the album is the weak half.

It's really creative and very different. Has to be one of my favorites. I didn't like the way it was incorperated into UTCM though.

Great album...but most of it is left over demos.

I used to have a cassette tape of Parade,but I played it out that ruin my copy. I downloaded all the songs that I liked off the album. It's one of Prince best albums.

Another classic that needs remastering badly. I'd rather have Parade and SOTT be remastered sooner than Purple Rain or ATWIAD if I had to choose.

My second favorite album after SOTT. An absolute Classic, even if it was not attached to the movie. I think it would have been considered a classic if it wasn't considered a sondtrack.

i agree parade is one of his best albums

I think that Parade is pretty damn good, although i do think that he should have added all of the songs from UTCM!!!

I also dont think that every song has the WOW factor, like Purple Rain, but it still is a very solid album..

I hated UTCM, but Parade is a good album. Like jack said, it's an interesting mess. Has more highs than lows. New Position, Girls & Boys, Life Can Be So Nice, Mountains, Kiss, Anotherlover are all winners. Not Prince's best(Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain), but very underated album.

It was my very first Prince album and it is one of my favorite Prince albums. It's a Tour de Force from start to finish.
