The intro to "If I Was Your Girlfriend"

Nobody really talks about this, but I think the intro to this song is one of Prince's most unexpected, moving, interesting and effective moments. Just after U Got The Look fades out, this violin sample fades up, cut off by a spruiker saying "Look at the bargains over here, ladies..." and a cheap organ playing Here Comes The Bride. I get shivers from the little vocal bit that crosses over the channels after that. Then all those ad-libbed vocalisations over the music. Wow.

Indeed it is a great piece of music. The live version from the sign o' the times concert movie is even better. Perhaps his greatest moment on record?
You do as I say

Thumparello

It ripped this song from Mtume note for note.

When I first heard it I couldn't believe it. I was like damn!!!
I think was his way of getting back at Mtume for using the beat of Nasty Girl for Juicy Fruit. But since Mtume was hardly known to the masses it's like no one has a clue. I'm surprise there was never a suit.
