CINNAMON GIRL most important statement I know alot of People thought Cinnamon Girl was a mistake to be a single, even though singles dont exist anymore really. But CG is coming at just the right time. With an election abouta month away, and the fact that America looks like they are going to re-elect a moron who is running with a platform of terror and tragedy, CG is a perfect statement at the right time, also with Michael Moores 9/11 movie coming to DVD on 10/5, it seems PRINCE who doesnt really make statements is making one. I must commend the video makers on making one of most AMAZING looking videos, nowadays no one can get a good looking video, AHA still can do it, and a few others, DURAN is another, but PRINCE really pulled off a great video here. And like i said with an election coming and everyone thinking about these subjects, CG could actually see video play, you know MTV will jump on it because it likes to seem intellignet around election time , and VH1 should easily jump on it, since its not RB and VH1 really doesnt play RB videos, Usher dont count, I said RB. But just as u thought LIFE was going to go out of the MUSICOLOGY CD, it seems PRINCE has made yet another good call. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I don't see why people have beef with CG, it's a nice rounded little pop-rock song with a message.
It sure beats the shit out of ICP&C, that is one of the worst songs of his *entire* career IMO, yet it get's praised to heaven here. There sure are a lot of deaf Prince fans around.

I agree, but with Prince deservedly smashing MTV every chance he gets, I'd best CG doesn't get more than one play.
And who cares, cause fact is he is right on bout MTV. You guys care that he gets exposure and that's cool, but I doubt he made the video for anyone but the true fans. He doesn't care if it gets played on MTV is my guess. You know he's been there done that. If you went to the Musicology concert, you would get a glimpse up close to his negativity re: MTV.

I dont think the CG vid has been made for the US audience. There wouldnt be much point now that the tour is over... I think, or rather, I am hoping this is the build up to a European leg of the tour...

IMO, I think it's a bit on the side of album sales. He does get a HUGE percentage per CD. It could mostly be for building up momentum for Europe since it could be blacklisted here because of it's controversy and political overtone. I am MrVictor....
