Is she pressing a lipstick in the airport. Is the airport blowing up or is she imagining it? It was all a bit pixellated. You know what? His current band is starting to feel like his first real band since The Revolution. It isn't just a group of musicians but a band.

Fuckin hell!
I was just moved by a Prince clip! Very controversial and very relevant. Wow! Great stuff indeed. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Thank you so much for posting this information.
This is by far one of Prince's best videos in a long, long time. And probably the strongest real political statement he's made since 'America' and 'Sign O' The Times.' I'm most impressed that he tastefully acknowledged another major religion without passing judgment. I thought that would go out the window when he became Jehovah's Witness - but I guess that shows we don't know much about the JW. Leave that kind of thinking to the right wing, bible-thumpin' Christians... I think that explosion at the end will be misinterpreted and that's probably a good thing. Now that the US leg of his tour is over, his recent chart positions will most likely nosedive and hopefully, this video should generate further interest in the Musicology LP. Well-done Prince!!!! Thank you. By the way, to the left of the volume control there is a 'full screen' button that should help some of you who've had problems seeing video details. And I agree with whoever posted that comment about this being his first real band since the Revolution. That whole period with Sonny, Michael, & Tommy was fun but not as uniformed as the current line up. Human + Zoo = Zumanity

It's a "what if" thing. She was so upset she felt like it but it was her imagination. Hate breeds hate.
She looked around after her imagining the event and saw all the innocent people (especially children). She took that breath that too many people fail to take when commiting those acts but the clip shows how things can lead to that level of dispair. EWM will not like it! Dajum, that's a great video. I have to admit, I never really liked the song that much but
this video sure helps it along. Let's hope indeed that this gets airplay because this is the first video he's made in a very long time that is actually more than just a homevideo of him prancing about his PP studio's in heavy make-up, holding lillies. Grrreat!!! and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Wow...I loved that video! ...THAT'S what I've been hoping Prince would do for the longest time...great concept, love the muted tones and how the contrast eliminates the details...pretty powerful statement, too (slightly on the melodramatic side, but oh well...)...And yeah, like others have said, I believe it's the girl from "Whale Rider", which I would love to think could cause the video to get airplay if nothing else did.
Nicely done, Prince... [Edited 9/24/04 0:29am]

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere, but here's some info I came across:
Cinnamon Girl Tracklisting… Prince’s next single Cinnamon girl is set for release on November 1st. The full track listing will be as follows: 1. Cinnamon Girl 2. Musicology - live from Webster Hall 3. Mr. Man - live from Webster Hall 4. Cinnamon Girl (video)

Temptation said: Wow! This is a really great video. Artistic landscapes with people inhabiting the art. Reminds me of A'Ha's "Take On Me" but where that video placed the band in a cartoon or comic book environment, the "Cinnamon Girl" video places the characters in a painted environment. The colors are cool...mostly shades and tones of tan, black and red. Prince looks great, Candy looks hot in "sidekick" mode, and the rest of the band is really jammin'. I never thought I'd see Prince make good videos again...but "Musicology" and now "Cinnamon Girl" have proven me wrong. Way to go Prince!
See, this is another example of Prince inventing a style, but having others say, "that reminds me of such and such." I need to remind you, if ya'll will remember, that Prince did this first in 1985, albeit on a smaller scale, with the video for Raspberry Beret (the interspersing of real and animated footage). Aha's video came out in 1986. There are countless times when he has done something first, but didn't get credited for it: He is the first artist to have a sung hook on a rap song (Wendy and Lisa singing on Irresistable Bitch) He is the first to use such words as Mac Daddy (Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic, which was originally recorded around 1987-88) He is the first to premier a clear cassette case with Around the World In A Day, not to mention has made each of his last four CD's in fresh, unconventional ways. Ummm...shall I go on?

Fantastic video!! Yeah, that was the girl from Whale Rider, Keisha Castle-Hughes...
The animation, the sentiment, the production, the plot, everything!! Fucking great video!!! (ps... I saw that it looked like a backward 5, then a colon : then a regular 5. Wonder what it means?) |

That is so true... i feel the same. Well, the original NPG was also a proper band, but i just love this incarnation much more. Its a great great band. I hope he keeps it alive. ********************************************

I could be wrong, but seemed to me the video was all about terrorism. Shades of understanding different points of view, but the ending was directed at terrorists who utilize young people to carry out their dirty deeds.
The part she presses the button was a Capra-esque sequence. You know, "It's a Wonderful Life?" She tried to do it, but fate wouldn't let her, then she see's how it was wrong. Makes me think of what happened when that Palestian kid got caught with bombs strapped on him. After it was noticed he had bombs all over him, he put his hands up and was obviously hoping he wouldn't die and kill everyone around him. The situation ended well when they succesfully diffused the bombs strapped to him.

Odd, try erasing your cookies and rebooting? Should work. Also, you guys check the side of the screen, there's a full-screen option, best viewed that way.
