I think we should get a petition together to get Prince and MTV to hook up to do his latest tour live on "Unplugged". MTV Unplugged has had great performers on over the years, but never Prince. I know Prince and MTV aren't the best of friends but i think it would really show what Prince is all about. It would show the naysayers that Prince is still at the peak of his game, and remind us all of the great music he has released over the years...

What do you all think? Someone please mention it to P at one of the soundchecks! Or at least televise the Celebration concert.

Good idea. I am I the only one that remembers back in 92 when Prince was supposed to be on MTV Unplugged in early 93? They even ran an ad for it during the VMA's that year. But it obviously never happened - I remember that when the VMA's were re-broadcast a few weeks later the portion of the ad that mentioned Prince had been edited out. I have the original ad on tape though!!!

i've wished for years prince would do mtv un-plugged.....but i guess when it comes to this...we have to wish in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which one fills up faster. hehe

As kool as this would be, it will never ever happen. I wish Prince would make me eat my words on this one, but mark them peeps. Prince will likely never perform on MTV ever again.

I'd love to hear the acoustic versions of "Thieves" and "Kiss" and "alphabet St" live...some rainbow tracks would be cool..actually there are sooo many Prince songs that would be great unplugged. I.e., dorothy parker, HCUDCMA, The Beautiful Ones, When Doves Cry (acoustic) I love u But I don't trust u anymore...

In 1991,Prince agreed to do an MTV Unplugged special,and they even ran commercials promoting his planned appearance,but Prince backed out.Another missed opportunity:(

What if he did a concert special on Much Music? He did that before. I think most artists prefer that channel because it's more open to real music, or at least a variety.
