"Props N Poundz" question about the lyrics

Hey,

On the "most irresponsible" lyrics thread I was just browsing, I stumbled across a post by
TheBlueAngel who cited a part of the lyrics to the npgmc download "Props N Poundz".

I'd never been able to make those lyrics out before and to my knowledge have never
seen them displayed anywhere else either.

Anywho, this quote seems 99% accurate to me. And if it's correct, I would like someone
to tell me what it means EXACTLY.

I'm able to make out some stuff about the lube and not using birth controll and stuff
but the inter-connected bits about "safe sex campaing TOUTED by the gun" elude me.

Here's the lyrics:

Safe sex campaign touted by the gun
With Con be the prefix, the suffix be the dumb
Look at 'em both and tell me somethin'
What's in the Trojan Horse's lubrication?
Nothin' goes in my woman 'cept the sun."

Whatever the exact meaning, this indeed gets my vote for a very irresponsible lyric indeed.

and what exactly does all of this imply?

that somehow the Trojan lube contains
something that's harmfull and - in one
of Prince's uncanny apocalyptic ranting
moods- might even contain stuff that,
while applied to a CONdumb (silly) can
cause it to become porous and enable
some sort of leakage?? -which Prince,
being the paranoiƤc he sometimes is
might see as corporate corruption into
keeping a virus alive by faulting the 1
thing most vital in halting it??

Urgh my mind hurts now.

One of my fave songs on TSH. LOVE IT! Give the man a break. It amazes me how even so-called Prince fans can't seem to catch on when Prince is being tongue and cheek. The song is supposed to be slightly crass. But it's the FUNK that makes up for it... biggrin

Mmmm...interesting analogy. A few Witnesses I know believe the entire media, ciommerical and corporate world's out to rape their minds and destroy their bodies, so this paranoia is unsuprising.
It would be quite an intreguing perecption if he hadn't refered to a condom as a condumb. It makes him look a wee bit silly and nieve as usual. What happened to Joint 2 Joint - 'Wear A Condom - Safe?'
People I meet in life whose moral and spiritual foundations are continually being built on shifting plateus are usually those people who are unsure of anything - in other words, the very last people we should be taking advice from.
Prince can be a pious wee bastard sometimes. It's a shmae he believes he knows better than the swine who like to listen to his pearls.

Sorry about the poor link to the lyrics.

I am still not clear on the lyrics. When the DTT transcribed this there was some discussion as to the meaning but I can't recall anything was settled.

I'm not convinced that he is implying there is something in the lubrication which renders the condom porous, though.

I know that the Vegan Society does not approve of most condom brands because of animal content/testing, but I cannot trace that this refers to any lubricant.

I don't know that I can really add all that much, but I'm glad to see that these lyrics are being examined. They are quite uh....interesting. And for the record laylow03, I like this song a lot too. I just find the lyrics to be a tad perplexing.

"Safe sex campaign touted by the gun" - to me, that sounds like he's saying that what we're doing now to fight HIV is telling people that if they don't use protection, then they'll be "shot" by the "gun" - in other words, that we're advocating safe (I would say safer, but whatev) sex as a way to keep people from being "killed" by the "gun." It's a bit of a stretch, but it makes sense to me at least within the context of the song.

After that though, he loses me. It seems that he's saying he doesn't use condoms, and wouldn't dare to put something so (what?) inside his woman. I would imagine that Prince is feeding into the mindset that George Bush has, which is that rather than concentrating on safer sex lectures and condom distribution, we should just advocate monogamy within a marriage.

Of course, that leaves an awful lot of people out of the equation. I know we don't matter to George Bush, but I hope that Prince doesn't feel the same way. Who knows. Obviously this lyric cuts deep to the bone for me.
No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Putting words in other people's mouths will only get you elected.
