I hear family affair every time a listen to TBODP. Im sure its some kind of homage by prince to Sly and the family. I can actually hear a mix of the two in my head now.....only wish i had the talent to produce one myself. | |

If you get the chance, track down the Soul Mekanik mix, it's unofficial, I came across it by accident when looking for other Soul Mekanik stuff, and it's pretty nice, it doesn't stray too much from the original, just a few loops and a bit of beefier beat.
The first 20 seconds is what reminded me of Family Affair. | |
