throwaway songs A friend has this theory that on every album Prince has at least one or two "throwaway" songs -songs that, for whatever reason, he made bad on purpose.
Don't think I buy that one, but it's an interesting theory, and it would certainly explain such gems as Jughead and Wedding Feast. WDYT? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I think he makes throwaway songs - look at Musicology, Rave, Emancipation
Seriously though, yep, when one reads how Prince places songs on an early album configuration, knowing he will replace them later on, with a song, in the same genre/mood - they're throwaway songs kind of. Anyone who records so much music can't possible make everything they do A+, there has to be a few bum-notes. I don't think he intentionally makes bad songs, more that in the past he has tried new things, some worked, some didn't.

Why would he purposely make something bad? Then again, Prince does a lot of things no one else understands.... "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Umm.. Wedding Feast is not a song..
Anyway... in my opinion what can be thrown for others that were better would b... Jughead the whole Chaos & Disorder album basically (i never listen 2 that album). The Flow Arms Of Orion Release It i thought that was embarassing for The Time Curious Child, Dreamin About U, The Love We Make, One Of Us, Mr Happy, Cant make U Love Me Poom Poom, 18 & Over ( i dont know y he liked those songs) Shoo be Doo, Push It Up embarrassed by those songs. "NPG GET ROWDY NOW!" on "Undisputed" double ( i remember some1 laughing as i played that in school, never again). [Edited 9/20/04 18:09pm] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

"New Power Soul" is full of "throwaway" songs. Andy is a four letter word.

I think that was the intent...to make a funny little segue....I get a chuckle out of it too! "Vous ete tres belle mama, girls and boys"
