I was going to quote 'Dear Mr. Man' But it's been done to death. Really, I don't think he'll vote at all. I don't even think he'd remember the day the elections are on. If he did vote, I'd think he would vote for Kerry, It just seems to fit his personality. I'm just having fun picturing Prince walking into a voting booth at any local elementary school gym.
falloff

(P.S- I'd be voting for Kerry if I was old enough) sigh

Hey, that is a funny image and brings me to another well, sorta sub-question. How do famous people vote? Down to the booths like their fellow countrymen and womens or can their reps do it? Maybe they have special voting mailers, maybe? Yet another incentive to become slathered in wealth.

I don't think he is going to vote at all. Prince has always had good sense so if he does vote, I sure as hell don't think it will be for Bush.

So again, I ask, what is the JW's stance on voting? Anyone know other than 'they just don't.' As i'm now very curious and obviously not versed in it.

If this is indeed true, isn't it strange? I'm not trying to pick JW's apart or anything but why would voting be against their collective ideals? Please respond those in the know, very curious...

I have studied the JW religion for years, although I have never converted to it. And JW'S are not allowed to vote, as to separate themselves from the world. You can ready more in their magazine www.thewatchtower.com and it will tell you more about their religion. biggrin

Absentee ballot. Anyone can vote by absentee ballot; you don't have to be rich.

I need to kindly correct rachel3's link she gave you. The ONLY official site of the JW's is www.watchtower.org
The other sites are ones who try to spread false propoganda about them.

The reason JW's don't vote, is because they remain politically neutral. Never taking sides because they believe that only God's government can and will solve mankinds problems. Also, there are over 6 millions JWs around the world, in over 235 lands....so, to take up arms against their brothers, just because they are in a different country, would go against Jesus' words that identify his followers by their love for each other.

That's it in a small nutshell! smile

What has led you to believe that Prince is unaware
of what is happening in the country?
What do you know that demonstrates
that he would be unaware that elections are being held?

sigh Sorry. sad I'm not trying to make Prince out to be some careless idiot. I'm just saying that with the fact that, as a JW, he most likely won't vote anyway, lives in Canada, and with all the current Prince hype, he seems to be in a million places at once these days. He's so busy I would be impressed if he knew the date. Maybe my memory is horrible, but I know whenever I'm very busy I find myself tapping the pen on the paper like "WHAT THE HELL IS TODAY!!!". lol
