i'm not gonna call any body flat out stupid even though they may deserve it...i'll just make a few points.

First as a high yellow black man... my skin tone has changed through out my years dramatically... even seasonally. I darken in summer and lighten in winter. I would assume Prince does the same. Some one mentioned look at Princes early self titled album cover ....What the fuck... he was a basket ball playing, little make up wearin', at he time teen ager. Of course he looked different.

But tyhat only brings up the secone point, people may be ignorant to this fact... but the quality and caliber of phtographic images has changed drastically over the past ohhh 25-30 years. Also how black people are lit for phtography and film has changed.

Third he wears make up which isnt a crime... but do you think he has used to exact shade of blush for 25 years???? and dont wearing make up drastically effect how you may be photographed.

If you dont understand these points.. then you are truly an idiot.... go dip your head in bleahc and see what color it comes up ass.

But here is a friendly tip for you dear friend.....if you ever want to return to your natural "high yellow" self.....go buy some Ambi, not only will it even out your skin tone, but it will also take a few shades off of your now darker complexion.

Notice in this pic.. look at my arms most... I'm 35... as much as my face has been beaten down by the sun over the years... my arms hold their true 'high yellow' sometimes considered 'redbone ' complexion consistantly.

notice in this next pic (sim to avatar pic )i'm wearing a leather jacket...it was Fall I had darkened up from the summer and my lighter complexion hadnt come back yet


These pics were taken with the same camera, in the same room, with the same lighting conditions only at different parts of the same year. The lighting isnt optimum, thus I still appear a shade darker in either than i truly am. But if you've seen enough non- professional pictures of black people... you can tell the light ones from the dark ones.

As i said ...it isnt uncommon for light skinned black peeps to change shade throughexposure to sun and /or simply by the season.... never mind the other factors I pointed out. And oh yeah... to qualify my other points... I majored film/video produtions at Columbia College Chicago. It is there were i learned about different grades of film... and different lighting exposures that favor certain shades of skin over others...ie I know my shit and it's based on fact...which I have demonstrated and not on speculation.

Oh and in case you havent seen a variety of black skinned shades... i'm providing you with a taste of my home grown Rainbow Coalition. My wife is Ebony chocolate toned... and i luvs it here are our products

they range from my tone(light) to hers(very dark) and all in between.

This is fucking stupid. I'm white as it gets and in some pictures I look pink, in some others yellow and in others white as snow. I suspect that would happen to other individuals besides myself - call me crazy but it actually might apply to black people as well. Lightning, people. Lightning.

Hmm.....well it is good to know that people have different opinions.....that is what life and this site is all about. If you all disagree with me, I really have no problem with that. But I still belive what I belive. And to brotha' Quake.....I too have a degree, I am a proud graduate of the University of Georgia(96) and I am a registered nurse, so I will accept the fact that you probably know more about photography than I do.
But I am quite amazed at how some on this site take their love for prince to a level that is at sometimes quite scary. Yes I like to push the buttons of those fanatic fans who claim they know every aspect of a mans life whom they have never met.....but it is all in good fun.
For those who think that I have been "called out" on certain issues.....well that's just sweet!!
And no I am not trying to have a "who's the blackest" contest as that I am pretty sure we all would fall far from the glory.
In closing just because some of you may not agree with my statements, I will not stop posting what I feel. And in turn I hope that you will continue to post your statements if you disagree with me.....that's what a democracy is all about isn't it.....freedom of speech!
