It could be about his own father, it could be about child abuse in general, hell, it *could* even be about Joe Jackson. Who knows?


Even though he often writes songs about personal topics, I don't think P. should need to send out an essay explaining what he meant by each one. Maybe the songs should just be left to stand alone, and everyone can apply their own meaning to them?

just a thought. prince's father helped him write that song i don't really know if they were talking about John L, or it could be about his father. maybe that's where the whole father/suicide thing works out 4 purple rain? i'm just guessing here. any1 else have any feedback?
