What will happen when Prince gets booted?

Many of you don't know, but Prince's great love and inspiration for music lately has been due to his faith as a Jehovah's Witness. I feel for the guy, because he is literally walken on thin, thin ice. I swear there was an elder sitting nx to me at the Musicology show. This guy didn't fit it, wouldn't stand up, and left about halfway into the concert. Not only that, he was staring mostly at people around him, like he was annoyed with dancing and the fun of the concert.

So, it seems inevitable, and it would probably be more of a hit to the man than the whole WB thing.

Am i wrong?

I'm saying, what's Prince going to do if that happens? Is he going to go back to his old ways or is he going to quit music and isolate himself in a funk? Or, will he make music the way he is now and believe his lyrics aren't wrong (such as "I want to go down south", or whatever he comes up with in the future that is unacceptable to the faith he believes in).

It doesn't take much foresight to see this happening to Prince when kids of "the truth" are commonly disowned by things that happen when you are a kid. It's a religion tough on creative thought and in fact doesn't believe music should be listened to with the exception of their Kingdom Hall music.

Talk bout ironic.

well I think that NO matter what they say u can never really be "booted" from a religion...i mean they may say u can't come 2 the kingdom hall no more but that aint got jack poo poo to do with him still practicin the faith n the comfort of his own home. i also think that any religion that can "boot" u has no validity as a true religion. its seems more like a cult to me when they say u can b "booted"
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

Are you a JW?

It sounds like you're being terribly harsh on them, I'm sure lots of Witnesses listen to just more than the Kingdom Hall music and most probably enjoy oral sex.

Maybe a number of fundamentalists have a cultish attitude within the religion, but I'm sure most people who practice it are regular pussy-eating, cock-sucking, God-loving, music-loving regular folk.

I agree, but I'm not being harsh. I would be if I was talking about the average JW who led their life within a certain amount of privacy. But, Prince has to do everything in the open, and just a slip of a lyric will get him messed up.

I mean, if he comes out in a concert and just says, lets have sex all night, cause my six inch will do you right, or something to that effect, hey he will be kicked out.

Talk bout eating pussy and such, that is something Prince will never do in the religion. But, the day will come when he goes too far.

And no, i am not a JW. Just have in-laws in u know what i mean.

Assuming that he indeed was an elder, it appears to me that he may belong to an extremist bunch within the JW faith. There are extremists in every religion or movement. In the event that Prince does get "booted" from the JW faith, I strongly feel that he would overcome such setback.

Actually, I think this has already happened. However, I don't think that he is messed
up because of it. I could go on, but I won't.

That's one of the most paranoid and narrow-minded things I've heard anyone say in a long time. First off, who "fits in" at a Prince concert? I've been to 4 in my lifetime, and I've seen quite a lovely mix up in there. Nowhere else have I seen mullet-wearing Nascar fans singing Purple Rain along with every other nationality or social/religous group you can think of. That dude you saw could have been anybody. He could have gotten a phone call and had to go. He may have eaten some bad chicken and the belly was bubblin'. And most likely, he could have been reluctant to come to the show in the first place, and figured it wasn't for him after awhile and decided to bounce. I don't know about you and your experience with JWs, but there are many different personalities within each faith out there. I personally KNOW elders who not only drink beer and watch sports, but they are sometimes the first ones to get the dancing going at a party (the Electric Slide must die! mad) . I personally KNOW elders who are into music and have home studios where they and others record stuff. I personally KNOW elders who dig Prince, regardless of his faith.
I believe your assumption is really a reflection of some paranoia you have about JWs and the potential ruining of your hero. Don't sweat it too hard, dude. It ain't that crucial.
