PrintableI like Clapton, I like Zappa, but I love me some Prince. So yes, I think he's best and my favorite cause the others don't make me "feel" the music like P does. I never needed drugs to get high---nothing makes me as high as P on guitar, vocals and all-around musicianship. | |

For me Prince is the greatest guitarist of all time and I don't mind saying so  Nobody moves me to tears with a single note and makes me lose my mind in mid solo.

I saw slash play in velvet revolver last month here in glasgow, and the guy basically carried the show, however i would say that prince is better at certain songs, ie ballads...apart from november rain and maybe dont cry, slash's guitar playing is mainly raw rock n roll based. Prince on the otherhand can play the blues terrifically and applies moving guitar parts to really intriquet ballads. I would still rate slash over prince just puerly from the riffs on appetite for destruction, but prince isn't that far behind. Oh aye, Slash does a fine job at the end of double talkin jive where the guitar switches from a heavy rock to really delicate spanish sounding, that is class. | |
