If any modern day artist/band could pull off another "Purple Rain"...

...who do you think it would be?

In my opinion, I think Gwen Stefani and No Doubt could possibly pull it off. Just something about their music seems to give off a new wave/synth feel to them. They're the only band that I can think of that could possibly pull one off...

i agree...it would definately be interesting.

Eminem already did with "8 Mile." It was a total PR ripoff, but it worked just the same.

Exactly.

if that's what you meant by pulling off another purple rain.

8 mile was an exact replica of purple rain but with rap.

8 mile didn't have nearly the impact on pop culture that Purple Rain did. I remember how people reacted to Purple Rain in '84. It was a hysteria. I am a teacher, and kids dig Eminem, but most of them think 8 Mile is "just okay". It's not the same.

yea thats true...but i think the person means really pull off a purple rain....like uhhh the music spectacular like pr...and the whole impact of the whole thing...i looved 8 mile..i loved the rap especially the one @ the end, but music wise and impact wise it was no pr.
