Well I am 33 and there are a lot of stuff my kids don't watch or listen too and has nothing to do with being a prude. Kids at 4 and 8 should not being listening to of watching stuuf that is too sexual but hey that's just me, a mother trying to put morals in her kids in a moraless world. So you raise your kids your way and I'll raise mine my way. Being a good parent has nothing to do with being a prude smile

Heh....sometimes it just hits you. I'm 22 and started only in the beginning of this year to really listen to Prince, to invest in his records. I always loved "Little Red Corvette", "Purple Rain", "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" and "When Doves Cry", but now....it's in a whole different level! I have 6 albums now, and music videos and MP3s.
The only thing I really need right now is The Gold Experience!

Well I'm 23 and it was back in 1996 when I was 15 that I first got into Prince. I of course already knew of him beforehand but it was mostly because of the inspiration he had on Trent Reznor and others that got me to into checking him out.

I was 14 - 15 when i started getting into Prince. Being curious i gave him a try as i'd liked a number of his previous hits, but not really knowing a lot else bar those. By this age i was experimenting alot with my music, so alot of the old was coming into my life and i can tell you now that one of the main reasons why i love his music more than other artists now is because i can relate to the lyrics. I understand Uptown. I understand When U Were Mine. I understand Eye Hate U, why? Because i've been there in my life or felt that in my life and if music or an artist can capture those feelings, then that makes them great imo. In the end if people want to be grabbed by Prince they will, just leave it down to their frame of mind and not their age.
If god one day struck me blind,
Your beauty i'd still see.

Um giggle I dunno if I qualify for being one of the youngin's anymore seeing how Im gonna be 21 real soon and all cool but...

Young folks can easily get turned onto Prince if they have 1) AN OPEN MIND to music 2)funky influences or 3) sophisticated musical taste.*meaning they are actually into live instrumentation on albums and such and not the one-two beats we frequently listen to nowadays wall* twocents
I mean, my mom was a die-hard Prince fan since she carried me, she played his music alot but not as much as The Delfonics, Bee Gees, James Brown, Elvis, Micheal Jackson, Supremes, Smokey Marvin, Temptaions, Eagles, Elton John, Barry White, Isley Bro's, etc. I just so happened to venture off into my own musical adventures, with her advice in the back of my mind of course, and became extremely infatuated with the way Prince's music made me feel and dance, the lyrics were unlike anything I'd ever heard. His music was/is so animated I would sit in my room imagining scenes and stuff that went along with the melodies and lyrics. Then there is his hotness. love My God. err I think I have my mom to blame for that as well seeing how everytime the music would get good she would yell out "AND HE FINE TOO!" lol I honestly remember there was a time, during VH1 showing his Love 4 1 another concert, I forced myself afterwards to not listen to or watch any Prince movies, videos, etc. I was crushing on him so hard. I was about 8 or 9 at the time. Or maybe 10?? hmmm mr.green

Anyway, thats how this young person got turned onto the Prettyman! yes guitar headbang music dancing jig
