Prince + Carmen E. + Mayte + Troy B.= ????? Does anyone remember that concert special promoting the symbol album in which 3 of P's girlfriends Troy Beyer, Carmen Electra and Mayte starred in at the same time? Can anyone figure out who Prince was dating at the time of the recording? Where did Nona Gaye fit in? I was trying to figure it out when I watched it the other day. Troy seemed to have a sense of humor about it because in the scit in the movie theatre when P and her are kissing she asked him if he was in love with someone else. Must have been true to life. I think he was with Troy at that time. This was the ABC Special "The Ryde Divynne". It was a performance of songs during the Symbol album. He performed a medly of Sexy MF, Love 2 the 9's and Damn U; I Wanna Melt With U and The Sacrifice of Victor. He also had Mavis Staples, Carmen Electra and The Crayons( a mixture of NPG people) as the opening acts. | |

Not the Ryde Divine...it was IN CONCERT, a concert series ABC had on the air in the early nineties.... | |

Forgot to mention that the show ran for two nights instead of the usual 30 or 60 minutes. The whole thing was about 90 minutes long. There was a scene when Prince and Troy Beyer were in a movie theatre watching Barbarella, and they start kissing. Troy, upon noticing that P wasn't really into it asks him if he was thinking about somebody else. He doesn't answer. Then she says, "Yeah, me too." Then she leaves him sitting there thinking about....MAYTE! This was a segue into the video for The Morning Papers, leaving off from where Sexy MF ended, I presume. But I believe he started to mess with Carmen around this time.` | |

THE RYDE DYVINE is partially correct, as that was the title used for the ABC special, but most of that story can be found on the 3 Chains O' Gold video that accompanied the Symbol album. That's where the movie kissing scene comes from. I think that Troy Beyer was just acting in that clip, I don't know for sure if she & Prince were an item Jeux Sans Frontiers | |

I believe they were, but at an earlier date, like 1986/7. I recall reading Shockadelica was about her (fuzzy memory alert). | |
