Madge is 5'4 (the average height for the american woman). I think Prince is 5'3 so there's only an inch in it.

Actually,Prince is 5'2 lol

Thanks for the clarification, 2 inches then. She's got bigger arms too.

I hate it when some of you guys say Madonna was big, because she hyped herself. It's crap. She's been doing good music, that's why she was succesfull. Don't deny it, you all love atleast one Madonna song.

MADONNA ENDS REINVENTION TOUR ON HIGH NOTE
TREK GROSSES $124.5 MILLION,PLAYS TO 880,000

September 15,2004 11:00 AM ET
By Ray Riddell,Nashville (Billboard)

Madonna wrapped up her Reinvention Tour last night (Sep.14) with the second of two sellouts at the Pavilhao Atlantico in Lisbon,Portugal.

The tour, destined to be the top-grossing trek of 2004,grossed $124.5 million and played to 880,000 people, according to producers.

The tour was produced worldwide by Clear Channel Entertainment's touring division."Madonna's Reinvention tour was a brilliant success on every level," Arthur Fogel, president of CCE Touring, tells Billboard.biz

Reinvention's North American run was topped by six sellouts at New York's Madison Square Garden that grossed $12.7 million; she also took in $7.9 million from four sellouts at the United Center in Chicago,$7 million from two sellouts at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas,$7 million from three sellouts at the Forum in L.A.,and $6.4 million from four sellouts at the Centrum in Worcester,Mass

What exactly are you trying to prove with this stupid post. Popularity is all subjective. Mick Jagger is the worse singer on the face of the planet but the Stones can fill a football stadium. You get caught up in the atmosphere and the whole spectacle of Madonna's show. So you can lose track of the indisputable facts that the heffer is a average singer/dancer.....

I know that popularity is subjective, and personally it doesn't matter to me how many people buy a Madonna CD or go to her shows. But I get pissed when folks try to suggest that she can't sellout shows, that her records aren't selling, that her tour is a flop and that her career is over.I just posted an article that proves otherwise.

That's right cuzzin!

We know what you think of Madonna, gman and that's cool. I just object to people who let loose a tirade of hateful abuse (much of which is not true) against an artist that they do not like.

If you don't like her, fine. Just don't deny what she has achieved and don't try and reel off a load of false claims. If we were talking about an artist with a two year career I would understand it but this woman has staying power and that speaks volumes. Both she and Prince are one of the few eighties born artists to stay the distance and in a music world that churns out artists as quickly as it drops them from their labels that has to be applauded.

I think not. Prince is 1.57m Tall. Madonna is 1.62m tall. Madonna is bigger. And as they have both stopped growing Prince can never be as huge as Madonna ever.

Although, if you want to throw in the high heels debate then it all changes somewhat...

I only razzed Madonna on her obvious shortcomings but I also mentioned especially to the Captain that Madonna is a strong brilliant woman and in that aspect I respect her what she has accomplished is amazing. Bitch still can't sing though!!!!

For me Prince is bigger than Madonna for the simple fact he is a musical genius.

I have always liked both artist and at the same time disagreed with some of their actions.
More so with Madonna then Prince.

I read a post about Madonna kissing 2 girls and I would have to agree. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with 2 girls kissing since I'm a girl that kisses her girl every single day, but I do have a problem when it's for attention. I do have a problem with it when your 7? year old daughter is watching it from backstage regardless if it's entertainment or not. Oh and what about her tour when she had the shirt that said F*CK on it. Is it really necessary to act in this behavior? I think when you have children you have a responsibility to them.

Yes Prince has had some interesting times as well, but if he had children of his own I think he would be responsible.

Overall we all do things when were young we just have to hope we grow out of it when we get older.

Now this is a carefully reasoned argument that I can respect! Hurrah!

I totally understand why people find Madonna (and Prince for that matter) offensive. But in today's society I reason that there are more shocking and disturbing things a child can see other than their mother kissing another woman. I think that Madonna has proven herself to be a very responsible parent but I understand your feelings on the matter, Lolinex.

Incidentally - your avatar is fabuous.... truly outrageous.

Madonna makes more sense to the masses, whereas a lot of peolpe think Prince is quirky or downright weird. You could imagine yourself going down the pub with Madonna and having a laugh over a pint of beer or two. I couldn't imagine that with P.

However I'd rather follow P than Madonna. He's more challenging musically.

I quit paying attention to Madonna in 1986.

So, to me... (AND THIS IS STRICTLY MY OPINION)... She never came close to being as popular as Prince.

I cannot speak for the general public.
