The sad thing is,by now,ALL of Prince's early CDs should have been remastered with bonus tracks, fancy packaging, improved sound quality, etc.

Agreed. For You was obviously an album where Prince was just getting his feet wet (as a kid) musically. It didn't foretell what was to come in the years ahead. I don't have the album (or cd) anymore, but not because I don't want it. Although overall it's not that distinctive (not to be confused with being sub par - Prince the musician was a work in progress), I like hearing the young Prince doing his thing and learning in the process. "Soft & Wet" was THE JAM. And I like hearing Prince play drums no matter what. Supernova <---old schoolPrince fan. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I remember the Release of For You vaguely. I kept getting Prince mixed up with 'The Silvers' and there song 'High School Dance.' The Big Afro was still in style in 1978.
...with love, sincerity, and deepest care. My life with you I share. And we thank you Prince for 24 years! Keep Rockin Hard In A Funky Place.

Always thought it was eery the way the album begins w/ "for you"....it is like Prince is not only beginning the album, but his whole musical career, saying "my life w/you i share"...and since its release he has been doing just that for over 20 years....
THANKS P! da' pope! Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!
