Now That This Leg Of The Tour Is Over, Thank You Prince

I have had a hell of a summer. biggrin

The screening in March
Concert In Champaign-1st freakin' row!! (pic in Rolling Stone cool )
Three shows in Chicago (pizza with Prince cool )
An afterparty
An aftershow at Paisley Park
An aftershow in Chicago

I have memories that will last me a lifetime. I am really grateful that I got the opportunity to do everything I have in the last few months thanks to some really great friends of mine, especially Anxiety, and of course Prince.

I think we should have a nice appreciation thread for the guy. Whaddya think? wink

Good idea.
I really appreciated the screening in March (that show at Staples was frickin' historical) and The April 16 Musicology show/afterparty in Columbus, OH was off the chain. The energy in the arena was unreal. This whole year has been a lot of fun.

I also had a helluva summer, thanks to the Purple One and his ability to make you feel his presence and take you to his music world. I missed the Staples and Grammy events but attended the Vegas and Denver shows and they ABSOLUTELY made my year!
Thank you Prince and of course The Band!!!!
For you...

I would like to thank Prince for a fantastic concert in NJ. I took my sister with me, who at first hated Prince but wanted to go to find out what was so great about him. She left the concert with 2 CDs (one in which she stole), two new friends at the concert, and no voice for 3 days from all the screaming she did.

Love 2 a Prince
Thank u Dear Prince. U have made my year. I had the pleasure of seeing u after the Grammy’s HOB Afterparty and yes I witness a genius at his best. I have been blessed 2 see u so many times but this was way 2 special. A small intimate crowd with u doesn’t get any better. When I left that night, it took a few days 2 get my voice back. Opening night at Los Angeles, Staples Center, I witness the love given 2 u that night. U were so moved by the overwhelming cheers and ovations that went on and on until u covered your beautiful face with gratitude. It brought tears 2 my eyes and a lot of other people around me. When they turned the lights on at the Staple Center, all u could c was 20,000 + screaming fans standing and screaming there hearts out 2 u. It was so incredibly awesome and so moving. U have always been special in my life. When I saw u again on June 5th I was so close I want to cherish the moment forever. THANK U, THANK U FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. I TRULY ADORE U!!!!!

I had a ball this summer especially since I had never been to a Prince concert before. Although I am still very hurt that I went to 2 different shows in Illinois and did not get to hear the Beautiful Ones. Thanks anyway.

YES! Thank you!

3 Shows this year (plus the via satelite thing)...probably the best dang seats I'll ever get for a show. Probably the best shows I have ever seen in concert (Prince rivasl himself for that one!).

This has been the biggest year for me as a fan. Besides the above, I have traded my booty off, thrown a GREAT Prince party. Turned many on to his music and the tour. Joined the org and got to know some of you (and meet some as well).

One might say I am Princed out a bit right now...but deservedly so biggrin

Again...just a fantastic year! I can't believe it's almost over (well the tour is)... it seems like it was just yesterday I was hearing Musicology for the first time or the Chocolate invasion (which I have listened to many times...WILMHOY is PERMANENTLY on my life soundtrack). Heck it seems like yesterday I was at the Filmore with my partner...and that was Feb 15.

Simply a great year to be a fan.

Huge thanks from me for many reasons. I have seen you often and always appreciate every show but this year was the best by far.

1. HOB After Grammy Show
2. Close up encounter at the canceled CMN video shoot
3. Very 1st Show of the tour - Reno-4th row
4. Anaheim - 2nd row
5. This past weekend stretch of Sac/Arco, SaveMart/Reno and Finally the best of them all...

Cox Arena in San Diego where my daughter not only saw you for the 1st time but also as her 1st concert experience. As mentioned in a different thread she high fived almost the whole band and had a 3 minute conversation with your beautiful wife who came over and introduced herself to my little girl.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Seeng Prince 6 times in one year - $600...watching your show through my daughters eyes for the 1st time - PRICELESS!!

The 2 concerts in Dallas was the culmination of 12 years being a dedicated fan. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of the NPGMC tickets that we were able to purchase. Not only did we secure tickets, but they were row 2 by the stage. One of the top 5 coolest things I have ever been apart of. Seeing the ? of U, Purple Rain, and especailly The Beautiful Ones live is unexplainable. Goosebumps is the only way to describe it. Damn....what a tour and what a year. He will never know how much this "comeback" means to all of us crazy dedicated fans. All of the money he is earning just assures him of more resources to deliver more music to us spoiled fans.

Next time, tour in the winter so I can pull out the fur and leather. lol

co-sign.

I was listening to "The Marrying Kind" earlier today and wailed out loud, "I want him to come back!!" My companion reminded me that "you just went to two shows, were in the first row, plus you saw the screening! Aren't you sick of him?" But that's the beauty of Prince: it's never enough...just a drop on the tongue and you're a salivating mess, needing more, more, more!

Thank you, Prince, for making slobbering addiction so freaking beautiful.

I feel very sad after reading all of these exciting posts in this thread. I didn't get a chance to go to any of his concerts. I bought tickets for the one in Boston, but my Mom wasn't able to go, so I couldn't go either. I feel really disappointed, especially since I've heard that this tour was Prince's last. I wasn't old enough to see him in the past, and now I won't be able to see him at all. sad sad

I agree! This is a wonderful idea for a post! I want to thank you for showing Columbia a great time and for bringing our hometown boy, John Blackwell, back to us since it gave us a chance to show him some love. I mostly want to thank you for being a bright spot in during a very dark period where nothing went right. I also got to take a dear friend to her very first Prince concert. So, it was a great time all around!

Many thanks, you sexy lil man biggrin

This thread is sappy, but so am I. Thanks, Prince, for giving your fans the best concert you've ever performed!

Still, it was overpriced, and next time ask me if I want to buy multiple copies of your newest album!

(Sorry, the cynic in me always comes out.)
