uk fans question? do you think prince can have the same success in the uk as he has had in the usa or do you think he will fade completely from the lime light
what I mean is the press seem 2 treat him more as a joke than the talent that he is but the uk does follow the usa in music so maybe theres hope

hmmm not so..prince is possibly the most lauded artrist after the beatles in the uk/europe.
look at the 80s and early 90s(up until 98) even crystal ball was getting regular 4 star reviews europe embraced prince in a way the states never did when he was coming out the real maverick shit.

yet I find people here in the uk are mostly negative the press also. What I am trying 2 say is can Prince turn all that around and have the same level fame he has had in america this year.

The whole CD bundling thing only works if you are touringthe country in question. He will ride high in any chart while he is allowed to count seats as sales.
If he was allowed to do it in the UK, then he'd have even bigger success, because you need to sell a lot less records to get to number one. What I'd love to see is Prince do the whole Europe album promotion with a new album. But it won't happen. He'll just keep looping America until the halls begin to dry up. Once he's reached that saturation point, he'll think of Europe and Japan. If he hit the UK, and did 2 nights at Earls Court, he could get a number one album. Take a few days off, and Repeat at Manchester G-mex, then the week after, Glasgow, then the week after Birmingham, then Belfast, then London again. He could keep up in the top ten for 6 weeks. If he could throw a single into the seat price too.....number ones all round!! .

it sure would be nice 2 c him touring the uk with a new album I think by the time he gets here the Musicolgy vibe will be tired (if not prince tired of it).

Maybe not. Perhaps this is why Cinnamon Girl has been post-poned (cancelled? ) in the UK. Since the video has been shot (I read a little about it on HQ, lots of green screen, the girl on a plane) - then maybe they're holding back the single's release until the tour buzz? Then they have the A Million Days video to follow-up. Just guessing.

if he did some good tv spots then maybe it could take off would love 2 c him on later with jools holland parkinson .I think the grammys gave him some good exposure also rock and roll hall of fame but there aint alot of shows that would get him the same hype over here.
although I dont think musicology is his strongest release it would be a shame if it didnt have a bigger impact here in the uk

"Musicology" had some really good reviews - some idiots even went so far as to call it his best since "Sign O The Times"! The Sony hype machine will sell the "reformed" (aka: I changed my name to something that looked like a squirt of toothpaste and released crap albums nobody bought ... but I'm alright now) Prince to his ex-fans (who jumped ship after "Graffiti Bridge") and new ones who have both Alicia Keys and THE Outkast album. "Musicology" is conservative enough to appeal to people who thought Prince lost it after "Purple Rain" and bland enough to pass as "contemporary" to ears reared on Britney. He'll play his greatest hits at three high-profile nights at Earls Court and a higher-profile aftershow at the Astoria where the likes of Will Young, Jamiroquai and eighty Big Brother contestants will be spotted doing their best to be spotted. Then he'll bugger off and hopefully return with something that will completely alienate the fairweathers and boomerangers all over again. [Edited 9/13/04 3:46am] There are three sides to every story. GMTV? Yeah right! He'd never do Jonothan Ross (as in, being interviewed) Ross is too much of a smarmy get, and would ask questions Prince would not feel comfortable answering (Prince takes himself way too seriously).
