"America" - such a funky song, but not so crazy about the half-assed jingoism. Still and all, one of my faves, just for the music. nod

Count the Days. I like the sound of his voice on that song, but all that Mutha****, and talk about death, and taking somebody out is a bit much for me. And this, coming from someone who is literally HURT over the fact that he doesnot sing "Work u're body like a WHORE" & "Just strip right down to U're UNDERWEAR, YEAH!" when he sings DSMR live now. I know he was itchin' to get out of that Warner's contract, but got****! That was some intense negative energy that he emitted in that song! mad

yeah saying the "F" during the song took something away from it.

I feel like I'm possessed by the Spirit or something when I hear that solo. Whatever I'm doing, I have to STOP, and just focus on it, when it plays. My brother and I were HURT when they cut into that solo for the scene outside of First Avenue in P.R. That, and When Doves Cry, are the only 2 songs I still listen 2 from P.R. Computer Blue was the best song on that album, even though pretty much every song on that album is top-shelf material.

can't stand the lyrics to Venus De Milo...there is no need for such potty mouth talk.

Seriously - any of the really religious songs make me cringe like God and what the hell is the line in For The Tears In Your Eyes all about....." and the dumb understand"????? bit of a shit us of the word dumb and a little bit off the whole vibe of the song

Prince was kind of quoting the Bible in "4 The Tears In Ur Eyes" -- that particular line is something out of Jesus' Beatitudes in Matthew chapter 4 or 5.

There's a lot of Prince songs I like but not because of the words. He goes off on some weird tangents sometimes and ruins it, but the music is beautiful. (for example, the courtroom scene in "Eye Hate U") And at other times, the words make the music that much better (for example, "When Eye Lay My Hands On U")

After watching Prince rough up Apples during Purple Rain and then listening to a Prince tune this morning (his unreleased version of "U") that also references "rape." I love Prince and his music but WTF? Did Prince have an "unhealthy" view of women or what???

I don't like the end of Darlin Nikki

If you play it backwards it says:

" Hello, My name is Prince, How R U?"
I'm fine, becuase I worship the Devil,
I drink goats blood and spoiled Cow's milk,
And My guitar is a thermal detonator that
Is gonna blow this bitch up. Thank U and good night...."

I might not have the exact words totally down pat, but it's still disturbing.

And here I thought the word "vagina" played a prominent role in those lyrics confuse

Without a doubt the best musical arrangement is the THE WORK
The Funk is pure Genius! Its a power house instrumental classic.

But the lyrics were written by a religious brainwashed baffoon.
The most stupidest thing i've ever heard.

You can ask.. and heck, maybe you'll learn something.
Better yet come to Israel and i'll give you the red carpet tour.

The lyrics of THE WORK are complete buffoonery
