Did Prince ever play a Strat? I think I remember Wendy playing one, but I'm not sure.

Anyone have any information about either of them playing a Stratocaster?

If you listen, you'll hear Stratty tones pop up on earlier recordings, as well as guitar parts obviously played on axes with tremolos (Ronnie, Talk to Russia) years before he had the Symbol guitars outfitted with them. That's the best part of ICP&C, for me: the dueling Strat parts near the end.

From what I understand, he's consistently playing them, these days.

Yeah, he's been playing Stratocasters for a while now. It's strange though, he never played them before in public - perhaps it's because it's the guitar that is so strongly associated with Hendrix. I don't know.

He's favoring a custom turquoise Strat on the Musicology tour. He played a blistering Whole Lotta Love on it at the Minnie show.
